Calling Lake Snow?

Anyone have first hand knowledge of the snow conditions in the area around Calling Lake?

Buddy I work with....has cabin up there....he keeps bragging about all the snow and no one riding on it....there all out on the lake fishing....cut lines with 2.5 to 3' of snow and drifts of 4'

i live in athabasca and yes the ditches are kind of hard packed but once into the fields or lakes and cutlines theres lots to play in

I'd like to head east from Calling Lake, find a place to cross the Athabas river and ride in the area to the east of that. Anyone know of a good place to cross the river?

We have done it a few times. Cant find the gps coordiantes for where we crossed though.
The is a number of places that are real simple.
