This will be the first year in the last 5-6 that I won't be making the trek north for the show. A couple of the vendors last year were far too busy talking with their buddies to talk to you...even if you paid $1200 for an exhaust that you drove 3 hours to get, only to be told, "sorry it isn't ready". Did get a great deal on my BCA vest last year, so there are deals to be had. The admission for a family of 4 an the parking costs don't help much either. Hope the show is a success for all involved.

I had the same problem with venders that were too busy talking to their buddies to help the customers. There were some good prices on AV bags and clothing but limited supply of parts.
That said, I will be there again this year.

Hard to please everyone. But the costs for vendors are high so you have to balance deals with profit margin on making sales to come out in black after everything. Sometimes it takes some bs to convince the guy he needs that $1500 package deal your making him.
I do wish the parking was closer to the hall and cheaper for the customers. It's a long haul. Can't imagine you guys that spend awhile in beer gardens then have to walk out for your ride!! Lol

I've seen sledder's buying up bags of mini donuts, then taking them home to freeze. This way, they have healthy snacks to put in there muff pot!!

I'm going but only cause I got free tix. I stopped going to the bike, boat and sled show because of high admission cost and rediculous parking prices. Your almost $50 deep before even walking in. I can see/buy what I need from any of the vendors there (usually) and be in and out in minutes and not cost a dime. I would be happy to keep supporting these shows but they just aren't worth it at those prices

I'm thinking of going up to upgrade beacon.... look around and that's about it.... na that's not true.... usually spend a grand when I'm there (peer pressure you know) oh ya and say hi to ferniesnow.lol
I always find it funny the Calgary and Red Deer always think the show should be moved to Red Deer. Calgary had a show no from the south went that why it is no longer so they they are probably not going to drive to red deer either. But every year I do see a pile of people from Fort Mac, Lloyminster, Grande Prarrie, Peace River lots from NW Alberta. So I think by moving it closer to Calgary to try to lure some back would be a mistake to risk losing the people from the north that seem to pack the Edmonton show

So just because You don't know people from Calgary that drive to Edmonton to go to the show none of them will drive to RedDeer? Lol. Sure.
How many people will be trekking from the North this year?
Best solution is to ask what city or postal code you live in when you buy your tickets and they can determine where people are from. But anyways it will never happen. It's not the end of the world for those who really want to go.

Never said that point was Calgary had a show no one went Edmonton show always packed. Why would they risk moving it closer to a market that didn't work?

Doug, there's always last minute space left. Maybe you can find an overstuffed chair, find some legends like snowbunny or snopro. Then you could set up a little corner like the Friendly Giant with Jerome and Rusty that was probably your favorite afternoon show when you were a kid. Then you could listen to and advise all the younger sledders to help them out with all your years of knowledge!!
