right you are shawn, fly fishing show is there. heck atco could even sponsor some grass drags on one of the fields. :d
I can remember going to Chestermere for the show/swap meet. It was a good spot to have the show. I use to buy alot more stuff there than at the shows present location. You are right there does not seem to be that much to buy at the Calgary show and I agree get the swap meet back.
Billy Boy
The old Chestermere show and swap meet was great, but that era has gone. I think it was 3 or 4 years ago the last time the Calgary Snowmobile Club held a swap meet. Promoted the heck out of it and about 50 people showed up. We had as many volunteers helping as people showed. The club lost a fortune. So S***-can that idea.
There was a ton of effort went into trying to find another venue that could hold the show, with no success. Sorry. Nobody likes to go to the Stampede grounds, but for now it is our only option..
This year the focus of the show is to make it a retail show, and have all the exhibitors focus on selling -not showing product.
THAT ERA HAS GONE, because of what? politic's and money? i think the haydays is still going on if i remember. oh right you had a swap meet in a dealerships parking lot, that goes on everyday and this year it's going to be a retail show, not a showing show, wow i must have bought stuff under the table or in the parking lot. me thinks the on line stores are winning over brick and mortar. oh yea hight octane show is now cancelled. I say just have a big show in red deer area with a swap meet and grass drags and get the ball rolling. my 2cents.
Drop by the Snow & Mud booth...pick up some S&M and Sledbettie schwag!
Sledbetties RISE vid will be there too...should probably pick one up for every girl you know for Christmas!
i don't really mind the stampede grounds, but the costs do add up there. also, i have noticed that most stuff is just to look at, not buy. it will be nice to have things to buy as well this year maybe
