Anyone bought truck wheels online? Free shipping on most sites. Going to keep the stockers on the 2018 f150 for winters and get a set of aftermarket for mud tires. Anyone found a good place with decent prices?

I looked at them also. Not much of price difference compared to local. That tdot performance has a few I wouldn't mind but I can't wait a month for them to show up, it's been almost three weeks since i ordered leveling struts and nothing yet.

I haven’t priced out the rims and tires I want locally yet so I’m not sure on cost comparison. If it’s less than a couple hundred bucks then ya it’s not worth it.

It also cost you $175 to get tires installed and balanced. Most tire shops you get install and balance free if you buy them there. I will support local guys first!

Just ordered 4 toyo RT . $400.00 -/+ difference from one side of city to the other . All have mounting and balancing as extra charge on quotes.

I bought a set of rims and tires for the jeep and my set of just tires from 4wp online. Had them mount both sets. Prices were good. Just takes a long time for them to come in and ready for me to pick them up. First set was 3 weeks. They were having issues with 2 of them balancing. In the end while it took them too long they got it done and they run nice. My toyo's took a week and half to get in and mounted. The time frame is my only complaint with them.

I’ve never gotten that deal on a light truck tire. Always had to pay. Some of the online places will mount and balance for free though if you buy rims and tires together.

My friend owns a tire shop and said it is frustrating to give someone a quote and it is not an apples to apples comparison. He quotes tires mounted, balanced, installed with lifetime balancing and flat repairs and his price is only plus GST and tire levy( both out of his control). Some people just quote a lower price per tire and no mount and balance. He charges for those services but they are included in his price and not an extra. It can be $30-$50 per tire to mount and balance each tire . Also people compare Costco , tirerack and other discount tires and he said he can tell by numbers on tire that they are a " cheaper" tire.

Most prices are on the web, from Kal tire to Canadian tire. Most local shops charge $25 to mount an balance, which to me is fair.
The nicest thing I find about ordering online is the better selection.
As for the 'added hassle', or 'supporting local', I can say it's pretty well an even split. I've had really good luck ordering online, and I've had some terrible luck dealing with local shops.
As for local, I've never really understood that. Unless the local shop is building the tires, all they are is another middle man, looking for the best deal like the rest of us.
