I don't know much about quads but I have ridden an older sportsman a fair amount.
I need to buy one this spring though and was wondering what I should buy or what to stay away from.
The 600 that i've been riding is a little underpowered for me so thinking a minimum of a 700? Are they all single cylinder or is there twins??

Yup, there are twins and they blow the doors off the singles. You might be disappointed if you're looking for a big power increase and go to a 700 single.

Yamaha builds a great quad, no disputing that. But if you are after the most power for the cc, a twin is the way to go. Along with the twins comes higher maintenance almost guaranteed...so if you are looking to gas and go, wash, seasonal oil changes, that kind of thing....look at the 700 Griz or a 750 King Quad.

4000 km on my 700 grizzly. Only put a reverse sensor in it and one battery.

Not the most power for sure but reliable

I would suggest the you get a Raptor, but may I know the reason of getting a quad? Will this be for leisure or a workhorse?

Using it to haul gear into remote camp. No need for a racer

Don't forget about Kawasaki they have a twin and price wise they r a few thousand less and they all have efi/ power steering. They have 650 and 750 twins. This year they came out with the 800 ho motor. Kawasaki and can am have the strongest engine in the market.

Kawi 800 is only in the Teryx. Not in a quad, at least not yet.

Rumor is Kawi is spilling the beans on a new quad in early June. Nothing but guesses on what it may be tho. A bigger motored and all over updated Brute would be sweet tho. Or a "sport" type 4x4...
