I just drove from Edmonton through Peace River to ft vermillion and back the same way. was a very long 24 hours and I had heated leather to sit on in the SUV lol
it will be a long day for sure on the bike, a guy can make some good time going north and back down, not a lot of traffic to deal with up there. doing it right around the solstice will minimize the hours a guy has to ride in the dark if we leave at first light.
Longest ride for me was this past summer. Rode my ultra glide limited from rapid city South Dakota to Prince Albert Saskatchewan. A buddy of mine and myself left at 7am. Once we arrived in Regina , buddy said he was done and spent the night there. It was still early in the day so I continued on and headed for home. Arrived at home around 7pm the same evening. It was definitely a hard ride. I thought at age 50 it would be a good idea to see if I had the stamina to ride that long. I will not try that again. It was hard on the body. My body said to stop and my Brain said to keep going, so the brain won. It's a bucket list for me. Thank goodness for cruise control and satellite radio. The ultra glide limited handle perfect. It was 1240 km.
