All good suggestions. Just use common sense. It needs to be build sturdy and insulated, floor included. Dogs do not require alot of space. Build it just big enough for them to turn around. They feel more secure that way. If your using a light make sure it has an appropriate guard on it. Straw is wonderful as mentioned earlier. The door opening should also be covered with a carpet or something.

my dads old dog has his own room in their house ! spoiled dog .

Out door dog should not have a heated house, good insulated one, my opinion only heating pad at most. Otherwise i hear it is worse for them. When in doubt ask the Vet or Ceaser Milan:rolleyes:
