On the aluminim siding on RV I learned my lesson - don't apply to much elbow grease or abravises or powerful cleaning agents. The thin paint and decals wear off real easy and in the end it is better to have a few bug marks, some specs of bird crap or tar than scrubing to get it perfectly spotless. Car wash soap and medium pressure wash is the safest. On the fiberglass / gelcoat siding - I think is more forgiving.

Wash it more than once every three years, mine gets done every trip and siding soap(for pressure washers) and a brush works fine,8 bucks a gallon at home depot, works good on my house as well!
catmando!

X2...and i try to do a quick wax every other wash with hopes it doesn't still but it still does. I also use the Turtle wax bug & Tar remover for the real stuck buggers

On the front of my rig, once I got 'er clean, I applied a wax called "Rejex". Bugs just wash right off in the car wash now. I think it was designed for airplanes.

RejeX is sold at Woody's. Saw it there just the other day. Looks interesting.
