Brute Force 750 Pull Start

Does anyone know if you can get just a cord? Or do I have to spend $400 for an all new pull start?

The mechanic at New Way Motorsports in Brooks told me I needed an all new one but he also tried to tell me I need a whole new exhaust and can't just replace my spark arrestor on the Muzzy

just by the cord in a long length and cut off what u don't need...

That's what I was thinking. The guy there was trying to tell me I needed a whole new pull start.
