I had the 650 and if I were in your shoes, and if money was an issue, I'd get the BF for sure. I was very happy with mine and the new 750's are efi so the cold weather starting issues shouldn't be a problem.
I've never ridden the outi so I can't comment on the ride but have heard they are better and they do come with power stearing now, its the high sticker price that would sway me.

Are they not both v twins? Ya bombis are a little pricey but both are efi now so that us not a problem and I'm sure kawi will have power steering by next season

from what i have seen, i think the can-am quads are the way i go, i wouldn't even consider anything else, and yes can-am has a front locker and it works really well you just need to adjust driving style to it but the new ones with the power steering the locker is almost instantaneous.

thanks guys yeah that was the only thing that kind of makes me go the brute force direction is the price. i was just wondering i know there is alot of aftermaket parts for the brute. for the efi model if you upgrade with chips and pipes and other stuff do you have to tune it in any other way or does it do it all itself. thanks.

thanks brute force boy!! they must have dropped some weight in the last few years.. I know the brute force that I rode didn't even compare. weight, power, handling but thats my two cents. Even after they switched cams, added programmers and exhaust it still didn't compare to my stock xt.:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d

I would highly recommend test driving both machines....even a short ride. Pick what you like best.

No problem, don't get me wrong, I agree the can am is the better of the two but for the money, I still like the BF.

I love my Outty 800. A couple buddies have Brute Forces, I can't really say anything bad about them. The power from a Can-Am is huge, but so is the price tag, not only for the machine, but parts are kinda retarded too. But if you look through Kijiji and other buy & sell sites, you'll see the resale of a Can-Am is way better than a Kawi. Personally, I think you would be happy with either one.

The Brutes are way cheaper than the outty's and have almost unlimited bolt on parts. The Can-ams do have more power but only for top speed. Stock to stock they run the same up to about 50-60kph then the can-ams pull away(can't comment for the newer outty's as they did raise the horsepower some). I have had a few issues with my Brute but I also run the crap out of it and don't really do any maintanance on it. The diff lock on the Brutes isn't the best there is but if adjusted properly will lock up just as good as any other on the market, it is kind of handy to be able to pull the diff-lock lever on the fly as well then just let off when done. If money isn't a concern I would say go with the Can-am but you could buy and fully mod a Brute for the same price as you could buy a stock Outlander for!

Just to muddy the waters a bit... are you dead set on a full-on utility quad?

I went from a brute 750 to a Renegade, I much prefer the Renegade. The brute always felt to me like I was sitting up on top of it, with the renegade I feel more part of the machine.... if you get me.

The renegade is nice, however it doesn't have racks, tires are lacking, and fenders don't protect you.
The outy gives you that same "feel more part of the machine" as the renegade.
Outy has more clearance and longer suspension travel than the brute and has a much smoother ride.
The brutes rear suspension moves staight up and down and does not have a rolled back swing to it (stiffer ride)
Don't get me wrong the brute is still a very nice machine.
Also why wouldn't you consider a polaris 850 XP? I really like mine.

I would go with the outty, they always seem to be the machine to beat. I love my brute force but I dont think I will get another one the kawis kinda seem old school to me now the only thing they realy changed scince the brute came out is added EFI. The OUt landers allways seem like they are beeing tweeked every year to keep them on top of the ATV world.

I have worked in Kawasaki, Suzuki, Polaris, Yamaha, Honda and CanAm dealerships and i keep buying Kawasaki Brute Force 750s because after riding all types of quads i havent found anything that fits MY riding style as much as a brute! Ride as many different models as you can and see which quad feels the most comfortable to YOU. I would say buy what suits your riding style, but from the sound of it you are planning on riding in the deep mud, So ride them all, THEN go buy yourself a Brute Force 750 and enjoy! And when you are ready to take it in the mud i got a great set of 30" MUDZILLA's for sale! LOL
