Bruderheim Staging Area's - BRUDERHEIM

This is a great area to ride a quad or dirtbike and it located within 40 minutes of the City of Edmonton.

Riding Level: For all levels of riding, Large open areas for kids as well
Terrain: Mostly level land but has some challanging hills too
Riding Surfaces: Sand, Mud, Muskeg, gravel, creeks, grass
Hazards: Whoops (bumpy trails), fast riding dirt bikes and sport quads on some trails, non marked trails.


DIRECTIONS:
- To get here head north on highway 21 straight through Fort Saskatchewan, the highway becomes highway 15 once you exit the Fort.
- You will pass a Gas station/restaurant on your right (country boyz), the next turn is only a couple of km past this.
- Turn left (north) on the next secondary highway Hwy 830. Head down that highway for about 8 - 10 minutes,(11.2 km) There is a sign that says "Shilow Rach" on the right your almost there, keep an eye in the right (east) ditches for sand and trails, theres will be a big sand area where those trails are.
- Turn right on TWP road 564A, down that gravel road and follow it (east) it will turn to the right (south) go down that road about 2 km and on the left there is a large staging area and most likely alot of vehicles.

Haven't heard otherwise, just make sure you are up to date on insurance and registration. It is public lands with a mix of dirt, skeg and sand, enjoy.

I've thought about heading out there this afternoon but with the registry down I haven't had time to register my wheeler....all insured though. Should I be worried?

the owners came to my buddy an i when we had planned a day out. last year some one died there... ive ripped around this area and the trails, and theres no way you could possible ride there and hurt yourself, as long as your not riding like a complete idiot.

SRD controls this area do they not? And who is this they that they speak of? How is it closed down? Were you riding on private property perhaps?

hey. i took a little spill when ride at Bruderheim today (oct 15). in the slow fall my clutch lever took a shot and started leaking. i lost my side air box cover (06 ktm sxf 250) if anyone finds it, and i can come grab it from you it would make my day. i couldn't go look around because my clutch lost all of its fulid before i car back to my truck.

i ride these pits all the time... my buddy's and i got stopped as-well... there is some mining company that owns the mineral rights to the pit... and they claim they dont want people riding there..but they only own the big open area right off main highway but the all the trails and everything else is crown land they cannot stop you from riding there..

Go to Ministik all trails are groomed and much better snowmobile trails than Bruderheim

Lots of trails at ministick, Bruderheim is more for the quad realm, not much fun getting jammed in the rut trails. At Least on the lake you can get a little speed , just watch for the ice heaves, Brian suggests to check your line first then turnaround and let it rip.

Thanks drove by Brud and the was 1 sled & 1 quad buzzing around. Ended up at Elk Island staging area and we spent a couple of good hours riding.

Lots of water in the lower areas, starting to dry up in the peat areas. We were out a week and a half ago. Should be muddy and dusty both.

Went out to Bruderheim this past weekend (June 17) and the riding area has gotten a little smaller, the sand company "Sil Silica" has taken over a portion of it, fencing strung up every where.
