BRP Back In Golden B.C

Met two vary nice gentlmen this morning that sold there cat/poo dealership in NWT and are Vary serious about BRP should know pretty Quick...would be nice

cant see it happening at all. BRP wont put a dealer there because of Bowcycle in calgary bow ridge in cochrane and Banner in vernon. they have to take on a full line dealer.

WTF??? There's only been a successful BRP dealer there for I don't know how many fricken years...and it's only in the heart of sledding...the service we get there isn't even service they've heard of at Bow Ridge or Bow Cycle.

We heard it's pretty close to happening. Hope so, we dread having to deal with the doo dealers in the city, what a different experience that is, small dealers work on keeping the customer happy, customer service is mandatory for success...the city dealers can give chit service cuz there's so many more peeps, doesn't matter if you pizz one off.

Hmmm...didn't hear that. BP has been good to deal with, hubby's had quite a bit of work done by Mike. They're a Cat dealer so can't see them going BRP.

I was told by the Bauns themselve's that we'll probably be able to snow check for 2011 that means something is in the work's as we speak so obviously you don't have clue about what your talking about.

Hmmm...didn't hear that. BP has been good to deal with, hubby's had quite a bit of work done by Mike. They're a Cat dealer so can't see them going BRP.

I don't know what's happening with Cat since there is one in Cranbrook also.

Mike is a great guy and will do whatever he can for people.

Hopefully the rumor is right...Golden needs a BRP dealer again for sure...They would have some big shoes to fill there though as far as service goes....Randy was one of the best.

I think it would make sense for BRP to jump at a chance to get back in Golden. There is a whole fleet of local sleds that now don't have an OEM to service them. With GSR taking on Yamaha's I would imagine that a lot of locals would be changing brands.

not always Tam my buddys sled in getting a new motor on warrenty and sled is out of warrenty just need to sometimes be persistent and its not always w/ the dealer but more so w/BRP themselves BOWRIDGE HAS NEVER DONE WRONG BY ME AND WOULD RECOMEND THEM TO ANYBODY

What sled slut means is now days, in order to get a BRP franchise you need to sell the full line: sleds, watercraft, atvs(they even like it more if you can sell spyders and the boats too). It is a massive investment and you need a massive credit line. I work at a small dealer in the city and we do pretty good, but it's alot of long hours ( I'm not driving a lifted deisel and I rent my house, you work in this industry cause you love it, not casue you make truckfulls fo cash)..... But gone now will be the days of a dealer fixing your sled for a case of beer.
Randy and the guys at motortech in golden have/had a great name and did a great job at being a sled dealer, but snomobiles dont sell all that well from march till september, and last time I checked most landlords/finance companies/utility companies need to be paid all year, now days BRP wants massive orders and not just sleds, I sure Randy/Motortech can attest to that......For somebody to start from scratch and pay "ski town" realestate price for a shop, and to find trustworthy staff and especially techs will take more work than you think, which is why nobody has opened a dealership in Revelstoke and why somebody has not opened a BRP dealership in golden since Randy closed his doors. It was a great dealership no doubt, and may be again, good luck to the next guy

The true money is made when somebody can sell their sucessfull business(usually after 20 years of hard work), then you can take the $ and run.

I didn't say the the Bauns were getting back into it, what I was hinting at was that there is somebody very seriously looking at taking over their shop and from what they told me and what Carbon said here is very similar.
