It looks 10 years old. Lots of dirt, belt dust and sludge for brand new? Usually overheating is the cause. The issue for overheat is what needs to be determined? Alignment, bad rollers, spring etc?

Nice Troll! No way that is brand new....

How old can it be. It’s a blue sled !

But I’m amazed on how dirty it is ....

Bad casting ?
Sheered off helix bolts (happened to me last year but didn’t end up like that at all!)
Broken rollers ?

Time for new clutches under warranty.

At least they’ll be clean now lol.

Dirty cause that belt probably got a few revolutions in before/after it failed and made that mess.

I am honestly amazed that belt isn't shredded.

Definitely warranty!! I would guess bolts on helix backed out or faulty secondary.

It’s obviously an ‘18, Blue with the new primary so what else could it be guys? Also the dust is obviously from the broken outer sheave chewing on the belt when it let go.

Parthunter, you got any more info on what happened? Was it the bolts that hold the jack shaft bearing that broke and threw everything out of whack or something else?

Check to see if all your tools are still on the cover. Maybe one went through but even so I can't see it cracking it.

Dust is one thing, look at the amount of sludge/grime on the belly pan? WTF is that from? No way that only appeared once the clutch broke.
Well I am pretty sure the metal shrapnel coming unglued at 8000 rpm has the capability of doing some damage.
Maybe some of the clutch went through the oil reservoir.........

Oil makes sense. Seen that kind of mess but the belt is usually melted and blown to pieces as well.

In all my years in the industry I have never seen a secondary clutch that bad. I'm thing warranty recall bolts not done yet and the clutch went freestyle or something went through it? Like Ray said maybe some tools?

Had something similar years ago but with a primary on my old Yamaha. Not even 8 rides on the brand new clutch before it blew apart, also took out my secondary, side panel, hood, and foot well. Lucky I wore steel toes boots at the time. Turned out the primary was badly casted.

The belt is upsidedown but l guess that could have happened after the boom. A lot of black at the bottom of the secondary, l wonder if this happened due to over shift on a top speed run?
