You've actually done this? How do you get the wet clutch to engage?

FYI: don’t try this with a “sled type” CVT belt drive...like a Popo or a Can Am (Kawi too I think). You WILL burn the belt and it will NOT start. There was much discussion about this a few years back so Andy and I tested it...his Rzr towing my Canned Ham...much grey smoke pouring out of snorkel and no starty. There maaaay have been beer involved....

I have been riding since I was 8. I am 46 now. I/we have only ever had to boost a quad on the trail once.

Hopefully your tv had a big fat cord! Or you like fire and sparks.

If it not stone dead it don’t take much to boost cable wise. I boosted a grizzly that was dead using the small cable from a 12 volt tire pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Didn’t even get hot.

BigMikey make sure you put tire plugs,small air compressor,can of liquid start,tow rope,on your list if your in back country

thats what im trying to do......build a list of items that i should bring with me when i hit the trails

got a small compressor, tow rope, hitch bar, shackles, gloves, fluids (oils/coolant) ....and ill add some mini cables or a power pack soon enough

^+1, I also carry a small boat anchor if I'm out alone in case there are no trees within 150 feet of where I'm stuck, saved my ass more than once. And don't forget your chain saw, especially in the spring.

With a shovel and a hand saw or axe, you can cut a chunk of deadfall, tie a strap around it, bury it, and hook onto it. Size the log according to how stuck you are. This can also work on a lake, you chip a hole at an angle away from your ride, hook up and go. Most snow stucks are traction issues so it doesn't have to be a huge hole or huge log.

i always carry a spare tire valve as well as i once caught a tree the right way and severed it managed to find it and got it to stay in but not chancing that again

I ripped one out to. Enough tire plugs and it was plugged and used the needle for filling it with air

I have a tire repair kit from smitty bilt. Has different patches and a couple tire valves too. Awesome kit for around 40 bucks. The nice thing and the reason I bought it is the fact that the tire plug "t" tools are all steel instead of having the typical plastic t handle.

I ride a lot each year,,Battery booster pack, small compressor, nylon tie straps. Been years since I had a low tire or break down.

If you have a very good maintenance program for your machine you should not have any issues.

Maintenance is key for an enjoyable trip...
