I was just speaking with "summitric" and he was just chatting with a guy while fueling up...he had two sleds on his deck and was on his way to Blue River. He was telling summitric that the rumor is that the conditions in Blue River are great and he was heading out to find out.
This is all second hand information, but I'm thinking it's better than nothing at all.

Where to ride....

Quick question; does anyone know the area around Blue River and where exactly to ride? Who can a person call or who does one see to ride in this area?
Greatly appreciated; Smiley

I have never rode in Blue River, but we had a trip planned with a local guide we met a the Snowmobile Show. We had to cancel the trip at the last minute. He seemed to know everthing about the area. Give him a call, Blue Jewel-Robin Jewel 250-673-8296, www.bluejewelsnowmobile.com. They even rent sleds.

Blue River is a awesome place with lots of snow. It seems that the B.C. gov't is trying to close some places down. Finn Creek is on there list and we need to do something about this problem is most of us are from Alberta and have no say that I know of. If anyone knows how please post so we all can fight this B.S.

Just got back from a weekend of riding blue. North blue is open, thanks to the group that shovelled a path to sidehill the big cutblock :yahoo:

We stayed at the glacier mountain lodge (250)673-2393. It is a good idea to have a guide take you and show you around...

Yes, the Glacier Mountain is a good place with 'sledder-friendly' staff and a hot-tub in the lobby. If you are looking for a guide then they can give you the number to contact a fellow named Robin. He runs one of the local tour outfits, I think it is 'Blue-Jewel Tours', or something like it.

Spoke to a guy on Sunday while waiting in line to was the truck and trailer after McBride. He too was washing his rig and had just got back from Blue River. He said the snow was really deep and that Blue River 2 had not been broken through yet. Don't ask, I don't know where it is.
This guy had a "Huge" smile about the conditions.
Got to ride there this year!

You know those trips that you will never forget as long as you live??. We had one last year in Blue River and a the quote of the day was "mud-river turns into mud-lake". Bill from Glacier can give you the details..he's seen the video.

blue river riding

Been in finn and more recently in north blue river . north blue is the best and most technical riding you will ever experience. Not for the smaller machines and definatley not for unexperienced riders:Ccry: .To get in there are a few small creeks to jump in and out and steep and deep more so further in you go.If you break down your getting a chopper, like it or not.Been in there 4 times and will be going in 4 our second trip this year on wed. Jingle me for info if u like. :D
