I am just on airport road and east of Nisku myself. I am in my shop in Nisku today. I don't really know what the place is called where we are ridding , just know how to get there lol.

Team CF has arrived home. 10.5 hrs.
Edson to Edmonton. Major ice. Sanding trucks 0. Edmonton to home. Some ice, major snow and blowing snow. Sanding and plow trucks 0.

I know with the AVALANCHE has been ...HIGH !

So I know not ALOT of People heading into the Alpine !

Alot of the Sledders have remained at Valley Bottom where it is Safe to Play....

STORM SNOW; Recent Snowfall has created Soft Slab Conditions in Exposed Areas at....

TREELINE and ABOVE Especially on East Aspects !

This Condition will be made Worse by Warming Temperatures !

DEEP SLAB ; A Widespread Weak Layer of Presistent Facets is VERY Dangerous

and Continues to Produce LARGE , DEEP , DESTRUCTIVE AVALANCHES !!

This Condition will be made Worse with Warming Temps.

CORNICE : HIGH Winds and Snowfall have Developed LARGE ,

OVERHANGING CORNICES on NE to SE Aspects

THESE WILL BECOME VERY UNSTABLE BY WARMING TEMPS.

The CAC ( Candian Avalanche Centre ) is VERY SCARED that Clear Sky's will Invite

Riding in the Alpine and We WILL SEE Further Tragic Avalanche Accidents as a Result...

I am booked this Weekend coming up ....

But I am OPEN at the Holy Smoke Inn & the Cabin for the Weekend of January 23 ,24 ,25

I am Also OPEN Both Places the Weekend of Januaty 30 , 31 , Feb.1

gumby....did You see the DEEP Snow that the Sledders were in this past Weekend ??

Team CF ...Had a Blast !

There is a TON Of Powder out there !...ARM PIT DEEP !!!

These Guys did ALOT OF Trails & Meadows there was another Group of Guests of Blue River that did go into the ALPINE....

I am VERY Happy to report they ALL came back....

I ABSOULUTE RECCOMEND RIDING BLUE RIVER !

HOWEVER....I ALSO RECCOMEND That You do NOT GO INTO THE ALPINE !!! ( My Opinion Only )

Getting out on Your Snowmobile is AWESOME ! Fresh Air , Exercise , and just Having Fun with ALL Your Buds !

The Group that was here took the Pics that You see....They has a BLAST....Safe BLAST!

If it is Your Desire to go to the ALPINE ....The Forecast is HIGH for Thursday...

Come on out and Pound Powder in the Valley Bottom...If the Conditions Change then so will the Risk....

I know that on a Puuurrfect Sunny Day it will be EXTREMELY hard to make the Decision NOT TO GO TO ALPINE.....

However again with the Warmer Temp.s Rising so is the RISK !!

There are Plenty of Riding Days to come Ride for Alpine.....

I do NOT RECCOMEND RIDING IN THE ALPINE THIS WEEKEND !( MY OPINION ONLY )

Remember if You choose to go and something Happens.....

PEP ( Provincial Emergency Program ) will then come and asses the Situation and They will go from there.

Blue Jewel will come for the Rescue after We do Our Assesment... Also if the Risk is ...

HIGH....Then We will wait for Backup...Powder Packers ( Local Snowmobile Club ) then...PEP .

Getting out and Playing Safe in the Mounatins is Great for the Soul....

At this time of Year Everybody is getting a Little.... " Shack Wacky " soooo a little get away is just what the Dr. Orders !!!

Here is a Weather / Road Report....

Current Temp. in Blue River is +1.4 C. OVERCAST...Low Cloud...

The Hi-Ways should be Bare & Dry for the most part Today and Tonight !

Watch those Elevated Corners as Snow will be running across the Hi-Way and when the Temps. Drop.....

YIKES !! It will turn to Ice at - 1C. soooo really watch those Elevated Corners...

Bridge Decks are also Icey when the Temps. Drop with ALL that Mist it really is Nasty....

A Good TIP ....When meeting Semi's look to see if You can see any Spray from the Tires...

If You can... You know it is still Mild out and the Road is " WET "...

If You can't see any Spray the Hi-Way could be Dry or....

You could be on " Black Ice "....

Check Drive BC it will give You Road Conditions....
