patti,i spoke with two guys that got caught riding in there, they got off with a warning but the officers said they would be handing out 5000.00 fines

I guess the Feb.15 / 09 they recomend Closures did come into play....

I also see that they are " Enforcing " it....

There still is 15-18 more Riding Areas left to ride !

I am just trying to get better Maps !

The Gov't Guy I deal with is away until March 23 / 09 soooooo

I am trying a few other resources that I have and see if I can get a CRYSTAL CLEAR MAP .....

There are ways around Closures.....

We will apply for Permits !

They give out Permits to Areas and that way if ANYTHING goes wrong.....

They will NOT give out any more Permits...

They are really Clamping down ...

But then again it is because they are trying to save the Mtn. Caribou

Ok fine !.....But ALL I have to say about that is ....

" AOFA " ( all or F..k all )

The Loggers Log thier food ( Lyken ) Grows on Old Growth Forests

Helicopters chase them to Study them , then they chase them again to Collar them ,

Then they DISTURB them when Flying People ALL Year Long Over them to see what they look like.

Then they Fly over them to see if they have had any calves , then they Fly over them again to Count them ,

Then they Fly over them & Disturb them to see if any Snowmobiles have gone to where they are.

Humm.....Weird Hey ?

We don't go flying over them ....If We see them We back off slow and quiet and leave the Area....

I seen the Forest Ethects Lady on T.V. saying ...

YES They have Closed 96% of the Areas requested BUT !.... She went on to say....

That is like being half Pregnant.....She called for a 100% request for areas to be Closed.

So I can say Blue River lost " some " areas however We still have 15-18 Areas left ....

Peddie is CLOSED unless We apply for more than 1 Permit a Year.....I LOST My Tenure in there....

The World is watching ALL of this !

With the Olympics coming they want to see Our part in saving the Planet ! PERIOD.

The WORLD is going GREEN . PERIOD.

On a Positive note !.....

BLUE RIVER came out of this pretty DAM GREAT !

We have some of the Largest Areas for Snowmobiling in B.C. PERIOD.

I guess the Last 5 Years that We have been in some pretty Heavy talks with Gov't has Worked !

BLUE RIVER IS OPEN FOR SNOWMOBILING BUSINESS !!

Parberry , Holy Grail , Pradise , Big Blue , Wh. River , Groundhog , Salmon Lake , Bone Creek , etc.

Humm...... that is a Hard question to Answer as I have no Idea on what the Weather will be doing....

For the most part the Guys are Sledding until the beginning of May !

About the middle of April ( again depending on the Weather ) You will have to Truck Your Sleds to the Staging Areas....

So Sled Deck Country Forsure in April middle to end of Month....JUST A GUESS !

We could get hit with another few Feet of Snow.....It is Blue River !

If it is going to Snow anywhere it is usually Blue River !....LOL

It is only March 10 soooooo anything can happen between now and then.....LOL

Lets Pray to ULAR and hope He brings Us.... A LOT MORE SNOW !

I can't beleive We are expecting 30 - 40 cms. By Sunday here in Blue River !

That will be some SERIOUS Snow up Top !

I think We will have Winter until June 1 .....

Then Summer until September then straight back into Winter......LOL

Avalanche Forecast for Tuesday , Wednesday , Thursday are ALL the Same for those Days.

Cariboo & Monashee Mountain Ranges.....

ALPINE......CONSIDERABLE

TREELINE......CONSIDERABLE

BELOW TREELINE......MODERATE

Three Distinct presistant Weak Layers are Primed for SERIOUS Human Trigger

Slab Avalanches.

Avalanche Danger will be Slow to improve given the presistant Nature of these Weaknesses.

Professionals are now describing the Conditions as " Spooky " with Serious Human Triggered Avalanches .

Often from a Considerable Distance away becoming a Common Occurance.

Safe Travel will depend on pay close Attention to obvious Clues....

Whumpfing , Shooting Cracks , and of course Recent or Current Avalanches.

BEWARE.... OF Warm Day / Blue Sky Syndrome :

We tend to underestimate Hazard and make more Aggressive Decisions when the Weather is Good !
