Like comparing a Summit sport XP ptek 800 to a Summit XM Etec 800.

This is the factory Doo part number for the thermostat and housing combo 509000499. What machines are you comparing that part is used a long ways back.

I have a billet thermostat from a 09 xp. I was wondering if I can use this on my etec

According to the Doo part website it will work on your 800 etec,.. the OEM thermostat housing for your 2009 is the same up to a 2017 800 etec

Does anyone know it the billet thermostat from an XP will work on a etec engine

YES... we don't need to look up part numbers to see if it will work. speaking from experience, there is a lot more parts than you would think from a XP that will work on a XM or conversely a ptec to a etec.

I put a Xp engine tech one in my 14 xm

Sure makes a difference on temp gauge on trails when low snow, as far as power not do sure

Mad Motorsports in Leduc is where I got mine, or straight from powderfreaks.

I found this thread looking to do the same thing. Found Royal distributers has the best price, the part looks identical, but way cheaper. Guess I'll order one up here

I put the T/stat from Royal Distributors in my XM this week, it’s the engine tech billet T/stat and is sold cheaper because it doesn’t have a thermostat in it, it’s just the billet housing. The people at Royal don’t know what thermostat this housing requires and they don’t sell one for this application . It takes the 800HO Doo thermostat that cost $50 at a stealership. I wasn’t able to find a sub from standt or gates, I’m sure someone makes these for BRP but it’s likely proprietary.
So it’s not much cheaper than buying the complete setup with T/stat installed already, but it does fit the XM, even though it only lists for XP models

I just bought a used engine tech one. Installed same time as I installed a 860 topend. Temp wise runs identical to my stock t stat. My sled is also a prototype 16 look a like that was built in late 14 so maybe it had a cooler t stat already? Runs low 40S while working it in snow. Maybe the thinner cylinder wall on 860 just transfers heat that much quicker.

These t stat housings only fit one specific t stat? Never unassembled before install
