I was running a Motts Machining 880,, im not trying to run down his product at all. Motts was great to deal with and when the sled was running It ran like a raped ape.

Problem was i couldnt keep a cylinder in the thing,, with the 880 they bore the motor out so much the cylinder walls are paper thin.. They just cant take any heat. Thats why I think the 860 was a better way to go. Maybe I just had bad luck? who knows.

I was thinking If the 950 wasnt just using bored out stock cylinders might be a better motor? I cant get much info on them tho which isnt a good thing.
I heard same issues with the 880's when I was looking at kits. Specialty sleds told me every 880 kit they built for guys melted cylinders, they didn't even want to build them anymore. Met a few guys on the hill said the same thing about their 880's. I stuck with the 860. Still have problems, but compression and cylinders are not one of them.

Thats odd, never hear anything but good things about TSS and the Micku;s are supper nice, helpfull people. Im sure if he has problems they will take care of him.
Haha don't kid yourself not everyone has good service from them guys. My cousin bought a 1200 turbo from them and it has been a dud from day one. It was really disappointing considering what TSS is capable of doing.

I hear yea,, Ive seen a lot of disappointing mod sleds this year,, Biggest problem is reliability. I took the whole winter off to ride, need some thing reliable that performs the same every day. That's why this year I kept it stock & I make lots of high dollar mod sleds look stupid on my lil stock 154 freeride....

Nope, how often does your sled make it through a trip with out a helicopter?? I ride every day Fred. If I was going out a few time a year than might think about a high dollar Mod sled. First stock sled ive had since I was 16 and Im love'n it! Might not get the high mark, but that's not really my thing.

I hear ya duke. I have a pretty funny story actually. This cousin that has that dud 1200 I was talking about was out riding with me one day last winter and thought his machine was rippin(wasn't for a turbo), he turned to me and said "dude you see that? Pure horsepower right there! You need to ride this thing!". I said "ya sure you should take mine for dig as well". He said "not trying to sound arrogant but I just couldn't go back to a stocker". So I went to go hop on his sled to take it for a dig and the thing wouldn't start. Once we did finally get it to run it would die periodically and we decided to cut our day short. I bet he wished he had a stocker that day lol. For me personally I'm pretty happy with a stocker. I tinker with clutching and setup lots and I usually get the most out of what I have. I sled for fun not to mark my balls feel big and with my stocker I have a ton of fun and don't have the head aches my cousin had with his big bad $40000 mod. Each to there own I guess.
