Normaly i would win this category handsdown, but this time its different.
I stepped on the scale this morning and was not impressesd at the 230 that was looking back at me. then i looked in the mirror and saw John Daly staring back at me.Looked like he just played a rough 18 at the cadbury open.
Long story short iam gunna drop some pounds, And seeing as i have the will power of a meth addict, i thought i would open myself up to the watchfull eyes on snow and mud..

Any helpfull hints or hurtfull ridicule is welcome

Your a fat pig and you should be embarrassed.
Now do your feel better?
Ok - with that said, when I step on the Wee Fit it assesses me as being Obese, so who am I to judge and at 5'10" I'm only a few pounds less than you
:):):beer::):)

It takes determination to get that weight off, because if it were easy we would all have 6 packs and not potato sacks for a waist.

Good luck Mr. John Daly - looking forward to your update next week.

To show my support I'm gonna ship you the 12 x 1.5lb bags of mini eggs I bought at the after easter sale.....

I gotta work on the quitting smoking thing before I worry about the spare tire, a 6-pack is useless without operational lungs....

Since I quit smoking almost 3 months ago, I have gained close to 20 pounds. Not the end of the world, as I'd sooner be fat than dead, but I would like to drop the 20. I can't quit the 9:00pm munching, and the thoughts of sit-ups, scrunches, push-ups, or going to the gym kinda makes me want to punch somebody, so I may be destined to pack the bulk around. Let me know how it works for you, though.

Best bet and I know this ones a toughy....drop the coffee (if needed to one a day) better yet switch to a tea that tastes like somewhat like coffee.
(NOT steeped tea...it is the most caffienated and the worst for you)
go to a chai (it is a decafe but tastes like coffee found out before I found out about allergy to coffee), if you like green tea it another great one, honey lemon has a sugar taste while being a decafe.

Another way if u dont want to give up the coffee is to switch up the cream in ur coffee to milk (yes timmies offers this..but only in 2%).

Eat salad for lunch, healtyish supper, and 45 min +/- walk every evening last spring and I dropped 20 lbs in about 2 months. It's not that tough once you get into it but my routine did go by the way side come fall and it's now time to get back on the wagon. Oh and I did not change the beer consumption at all but I know that would have helped even more - hard to give up the vitamin b.:d:beer:

Stole this from another thread, thought it might help. I sure you read it already but is funny at any rate.

JENNY CRAIG FOR MEN

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb.. weight loss program.

The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous,
athletic, 19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck.

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, 'If you can catch me, you can have me.'

Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later huffing and puffing, he finally gives up..

The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens..

On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lbs. as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day/20 pound program.

The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life.. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, 'If you catch me you can have me'.

Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 20 lbs. as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/50 pound program.
'Are you sure?' asks the representative on the phone... 'This is our most rigorous program..'

'Absolutely,' he replies, 'I haven't felt this good in years.'

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, 'If I catch you, you're mine.'

He lost 63 pounds that week!!!!!!!!!!

Scotts,

I am willing to share a secret with you that is working for me and some of my friends. Before I even say anything, you have to have an open mind...I DIDNT AT FIRST, and now I am about a year behind where I COULD have been. Before you even say it, YES it is a multi-level marketing product, which normally I would stay very far away from, but I have some personal friends on this product and I have seen wild results, so I finally asked my buddy what he was doing as he has lost over 100lbs in a year and a bit. I tried it, and dropped about 22lbs in 4 months and trust me, I did not follow the program very well.

If you are still reading this, then all I can say is that if you are willing to try it, I am willing to bet it will work for you. It is a protein supplement shake, one in the morning, one at lunch and then you eat normal supper...thats it! And it tastes great. I thought I couldnt do it, but it was real easy, so easy in fact that I decided to quit, and in the past year I have actually re-gained most of the weight so I am back on the shakes again.

IF YOUR MIND IS STILL OPEN...have a look at the website for some more info. Under the testimonials section, I am personal friends with Pat, Angela, Marvin, and Todd. Todd is the one that got me interested in the diet program. Good luck!

PS: I know you will probably think 'forget it' but its worth looking at!

What we should do here on Snow and Mud, is hold a fitness challenge.

for 3 months, anyone interested can enter. We set a few perameters, lay out some basic rules, and at the end, we all post some before and after pictures.

today is the 21st, so perhaps the beginning of may could be the beginning. Everyone who is interested takes a picture of themselves with that days News paper. We all use this forum to help support each other, motivate, call names and push each other to not give up.

At the end of the 3 months, we all post our final pictures holding that days paper.

all people involved will then vote on who they think did the best job meeting their goals, and crown them the winner of the first fitness challenge on Snow and Mud.

Anyone who cares can also donate prizes for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize.

just an idea.

your thoughts Scotts?

I've lost 15 pounds over the last 2.5 months. First change I made was not to overfill my plate, not have seconds and eat a bit healthier.
I keep oranges, apples, veggies around the house for snacks. Once I got used to it the change has been easy - oh, and I've pretty much cut beer out of the mix - but not completely.
I'm too lazy to walk at night so I'm going with the reduced diet
:d:d:beer::d:d
ok, I do go for walks cause my wife makes me.

Was 220
Now 205
Goal 190 in June.
