I have pics of me in the first class section of the A380, also in the flight deck, crew bunks, and so on. The sign on the first class shower saying "maximum 2 occupants" is quite funny

You can see the new control tower that will be completed sometime before 2015 at around 300 feet tall in the last of Dave's pics.

team dirt - your buddy, no safety vest...:nono:

you must have some good clearance to access those places on the plane! Years ago before 9/11 the pilots invited my two daughters and myself up to the cockpit of the 747 going to europe. It was neat but now they have that locked up more the Fort Knox :(

Nah, just been in the industry for near 16 years.

9/11 was actually a very frightening day for us involved throughout North America. We didn't know what could potentially happen from that.

yes it was indeed a scary time. I actually took a flight out on Sept 17 to Europe and everyone thought I was nuts. I figured it would probably be one of the safer times traveling considering what happened. Obviously I was right :)

I have been inside the 124. There isn't a huge difference. Like Dave mentioned, its based on the same platform aircraft, although the 225 doesn't have a back door through which cargo can be loaded through, tanks driven through, and so on.

With 88.5 meter wing span its quite apparent at first how large it actually is. (about 20 meters more than the new Boeing 747-800) Then it just becomes another big plane after you are used to looking at it.

The split vertical stabilizer is quite amazing in comparrison to other aircraft tails.

Thats one thing I do miss about working at airport fire is the aircraft tours. We had the all access pass..
