Did you get to go inside. Check out the cockpit?

You will have a nice view from the pilots seat.

Very cool! Love the big planes! watched "Great Planes about the An 124 the other day. The AN 225 is based on the 124...2 more engines, and stretched fuse and wings. Only two were made and only one flies today.....very neat stuff.

I have been inside the 124. There isn't a huge difference. Like Dave mentioned, its based on the same platform aircraft, although the 225 doesn't have a back door through which cargo can be loaded through, tanks driven through, and so on.

With 88.5 meter wing span its quite apparent at first how large it actually is. (about 20 meters more than the new Boeing 747-800) Then it just becomes another big plane after you are used to looking at it.

The split vertical stabilizer is quite amazing in comparrison to other aircraft tails.

I watched the same show. They are awesome. Just found out today my parents are flying from Frankfurt to Miami in the new Airbus A380. I am so jealous!!! I watched them come in at London Heathrow and they are massive! Very cool to watch that big bird land and take off!

I flew the A380 from London to Dubai, that plane is amazing. So much more room than anything else I have flown on. Those Russians know how to make a plane, in 06 I was in Tarin Kowt Afghanistan, it had a dirt strip that sloped. We had an Antanov 124 approach from the wrong direction and realize it at the last second, he dropped the plane onto the runway.....literally from about 250ft above to make the landing (alternative was trying to stay airborne and avoid the large mountain). Blew a tire on landing, skidded off the runway and clipped a wall with the wing. Crazy pilots fixed it by the next morning and were gone. Pretty sure it was bubble gum and duct tape used in the repair though............

I have pics of me in the first class section of the A380, also in the flight deck, crew bunks, and so on. The sign on the first class shower saying "maximum 2 occupants" is quite funny

You can see the new control tower that will be completed sometime before 2015 at around 300 feet tall in the last of Dave's pics.

team dirt - your buddy, no safety vest...:nono:
