back to the original question, is there one this year?

No. I think the reality of what can go wrong at a public event finally hit Dave square between the eyes. People dying, people suing, the media crush. Its just not worth it. The Big Iron Shootout will live on forever in sledders minds.

Some of us are already visiting this place less and less. With 20,000+ peeps I didn't think this site was that hard up for members to keep some guy who rides his sled at ski hill at the end of the season or heads into cat ski operations (but he rides "hardcore deep pow" right?). Or talks down to sled clubs and groomer operators, the guys who actually contribute to our sport.

Sad. Have a good weekend.
Very true, I used to bounce back and forth from here to snowest to occupy boredom at work and with the LHF and Willy retards cluttering up every post, the mindless babble about what sleds best it's gotten boring, it's always fun to be competitive on brands but the cluttering up threads about riding areas, modifications, technical write ups etc with it I'm pretty bored with this place. Is there any other way to organize an event like this again? The people that passed were avid enthusiasts too I'm sure nobody would have wanted this to come to a forever end? I would love to get on board with bringing it back, volunteering, whatever and I'm sure many others would do the same

Won't happen. It would have to be sanctioned, there would be the environmental responsibilities to tend to, like where does 1000 people go to the bathroom in one bowl? Garbage, people ripping up cutblocks which are closed due to young trees.. etc. parking issues, liabilities...

The last BIS was very controversial as it was in the last year. It was the only one I didn't go to.

So, no bis thats for sure.

Start a new thread with a date ahead... Might be surprised at the turn out everyone is always up for a ride in the mountains with some high Ho and skilled riders
