Yamafest has sort of taken over now. Lack of organization last time they tried to run the BIS

??????????What are you talking about??????????????

It was cancelled for a few years. last year they tried to run it again and lack of organization created some issues. Yamafest seems to be the big one now, at least last year it was.

Whether its advertised/sponsored. etc. It still usually goes on. Just not advertised. Just show up and enjoy. It all started out i believe as a group of sledders just getting together same time every year having fun. Thats the most important part of any event. This is what the event still is to this day. Just a lot more freinds.

What issues? Other than ozone, everything else seemed to go pretty good. The trails were flagged really well to deter peeps going into planted areas. (Kudos to Lori & Randy from Zacstracs) The races were marked and timed well. Bit of an issue with climbs, but that was weather related more than anything. Parking lot had some direction to avoid some people parking like tards.

I thought it was a great weekend, and hope it continues on for years.

I guess I did not have any huge expectaions, so there was no room for disappointment - just saying.

hahaha "what issues??? - you have lots to learn about what goes on behind the scenes then. A "little" lack of organization is a major understatement. Thanks to someone else for ponying up the insurance $$$, thanks to Zac Tracks and a huge contingent of volunteers for flagging, thanks to everyone who helped clean up, thanks to Impluse for actually getting the races started instead of sitting around wondering where the organizer was, etc etc etc etc. The event only happened because of some very dedicated peeps that stepped up, let's give the proper credit where credit is due. Thanks goes to the club as well for putting up with it.

Didn't the orgainzer say that the proceeds were going to charity or to the club or something like that as well?

Oh boy... here we go again...

Nice job giving credit to that appropriate peeps mod! There are always those that do the job and ask no thanks and there are other that do no work and ask for all the credit! Not to mention names!

The biggest Problem with this event is that the organizer will NOT co-operate with the Revy Club which is huge do to there MOF's which is the agreement that the Club has with the Minister Of Forestry.....There are many many issues.....If someone with Half a Brain could make this into a huge event.....After the 2006 BIS things went south......and its just a chit show now......It was Dean (alpine Motor sports, Randy Swenson), and a couple other peeps got the show started this yr as Ozone was 2 hours late..........Just my 2 cents.....
