...i get bugged about my pink suit all the time:eek:

I can vouch for that, as I am sure 100 other members here can. I rode an arctic cat to the doo ride pictured, and I got less harassment about that then Tex did about his pink outfit.

Tex78,

I am going to start a thread about getting you a new jacket.

I think I will have members chime in on your problem to decide this one. :)

Hey mfguy, thats very cool of you to get creative and maybe get a S & M member a jacket.

I'm just wondering what you'd say to me, a Klim guy to convince me to try your gear when I make my next purchase. To be honest I haven't even seen the MF stuff in person.

IT IS EASY TO BE WATERPROOF. IT IS VERY HARD TO BE TRULY BREATHABLE.

eVent performs better. In short. eVent fabric vs. a Gore_tex fabric breathes better. Independently tested and visually you can see it work. The US Army did a test and proved it also.

The US Army’s Natick tests of waterproof-breathable laminates reported that eVENT fabric proved to be the most breathable of all materials tested, averaging twice the breathability of its closest competitor. Testing included the likes of Gore-Tex XCR®, Sympatex®, and various other waterproof-breathable fabrics. (source: )

If you really want to understand this check this out. I just googled it. http://www.prolitegear.com/cgi-bin/prolitegear/xdpy/kb/00029/You can have the coolest zippers and features. But if it doesn't breathe....you may has well a garbage sack.

We have the best warranty. Lifetime Plus. in the unlikely event of failure in materials and/or workmanship, to the original purchaser, for the life of the product. But here’s where it gets even better (the Plus part). While your warranty claim or repair is being processed, we’ll provide you with a loaner jacket, pant, or bib. With our signature MotorFist quality, backed by the Lifetime Plus Warranty, you'll never miss that perfect snowmobiling day.

Mother Nature doesn't wait. Neither will you.

And Mona Lisa approves it:

I could give you a few more....But those would be my top ones.

What stuff do you look for in gear?? Just curious....

I have a technical shell with eVent stuff in it, and I'll admit, it's damned waterproof. I use it as a raincoat in the summer, seems to breathe as well as anything would when it's warm, raining and you're sweating.

JaySimon....this is a great point.

Gore-tex and ALL OTHER materials DO NOT directly vent out sweat. Patented, eVent is the only provider of this.

hey mf guy what set up would you reccomend for mountain riding not usually any colder then -20c but usually around -10c mark revelstoke and valmount main riding areas and normally riding trees ... we ride hard and dont really take a break during the day.... i was looking at your coats and pants and am interested in knowing what the best all around combo would ... and what are the major differences in the rekon, mountain and redline gear ??

If you ride aggressively I would wear a Rekon jacket and bib/pant AND make sure you have the correct under layers like Hydrophobic fleece and N2S as well. If you have never had a "layering: system before it will literally make your ride way better. I am not over exagerating. You will ride in total comfort. The Rekon features the high performance, above anything else out there, eVent fabrics. Sounds like your riding needs breathablitiy (eVent fabrics) and Rekon wear. Again....layer. It makes a huge difference. You would think this "thinner" jacket and layering would provide warth and performance. it does. Trust me!!

Other S&M members can attest to it.

If you have colder temps and AREN"T sweating heavily I would go with the Redline and wear a very thin fleece like the N2S and Teton fleece. the Redline comes insulated. This makes it very warm.

I wear a Valkerie glove to ride in and out and a Kill switch while I am really riding. The Kill switch you can really feel the bars. I like that. If you want just one glove get the WOT. It is a mix of warmth and performance. The Kill switch is not waterproof. But it takes A LOT to get them wet.

here is a video on layering made by a dude that sells our gear. It's simple. not to technical. How To Layer For Snowmobiling- GearHead.com - YouTube

If you guys want some in depth stuff on how this really works i can post it. It really explains waterproof breathable in a way nothing else can. I think it is important. It, IMO, it is one of the most important things you can do sledd'n. Dress right so you don't freeze to death in a survival situation. Ride in total comfort in the meantime.

Speak more of this WOT glove. I lost my "go to" set of gloves last ride of the season in McBride. I need something to replace them. I was going to get the same set but always looking for something better.
