2012, I'm sure the 2013 summit xp is great but no etec. The 2013 freeride xp sounds like its doing great aswell.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!....they still make the XP in 2013 and the latest year always has the best improvements..... What was it?....A trick question?.......lol

LOts of XP's available in 2013.....Example; Freeride XP Etec 800 in 137,146,154, Renegades, MXZ's, all with etec options.



2012 would be the best year for a summit XP, because of the etec.

If you want P-Tek motor
2013 Summit Sport (XP chasis and S-36 front-end)

For ETEC
2012 Summit X or SP
or
2013 Freeride

For older years I believe 2010 Summit X was regarded as the best iteration.

No not a trick? Just looking at geting wife a used xp and was looking between years 09 to 10 but just looking to see if there was issues after 08.

Go with a 2010, if 800, they improved the PTO bearing. If a 600, doesn't matter but I would get the newest one you can afford.....Suspensions were improved in 2010 as well. 2008's sucked.

2012 would be the best with the e-tec but we also have an 09 with 3300kms on it and have had no issues with that
