best wifes/backup sled for 6k all in.

So a bud is looking for a trail/mountain capable sled for his wife around 151" or so. $6000 is about the max budget, what would you suggest? He is a skidoo guy and keeps telling me look at all the deals on the 08 xp's... but I had one and am not so sure that is the answer.

Can't go wrong with any of the 800s of that vintage. Best bet would be let her decide as it depends if she likes to stand or sit when she rides.

On that note the XPs are a handful compared to the cat and Polaris of that year. But a good deal on one and update the front end and add t-motion and they are probably better than the other two

HaHa I thought of that too, a 09 or so xp etec 600 with s36 and t motion trying to uncomplicate this for him....

X2 the 600 etecs are a great machine! A few women in my family ride them and love them. They ride good, have excellent fuel economy and have pretty good jam to boot. I have an absolute blast when I hop on an etec 600. If I was buying a sled for my wife an 08 xp wouldn't be very high on my list. I know there are some hard riding women out there but the majority of women aren't overly concerned with having the highmark and just want a competent and reliable machine and the 600 etec is just that. Biggest problem is they are hard to come buy.

2008-2010 700 rmk standard. I got 5000 trouble free miles on mine. Comes with full wheels, bulkhead cooler so you dont have to worry so much on trail. Has a temp gauge as well.

What are your trying to say Adam; that I ride a girls sled?? Lol.

I was going to suggest it too (600), my wife loves mine. I've got the Slp setup on mine and it's great. Most can't believe it's a 6. My wife finds it super easy to ride and she is pretty inexperienced. You don't see too many of them for sale though. Great motor IMO.

I wasn't in love with with the 10/11 M8's. Just not my cup of tea but I know of lot guys love them.

That's what I got the old lady on and she enjoys it a lot. My '08 XP she could not ride at all. I loved the XP but they are not for everyone. The M series sleds are much easier to get to roll over for smaller people it seems and the 700 Cat is a nice power plant for her too.

E.F.I, reverse, and electric start are probably things that will make it more fun for her. I was going to suggest a 144 sabercat, those things even came with command start, but the track is to narrow.

My wife's sled is the 07 RMK 600 144" in my signature, super easy to ride and very reliable so far. I should have looked for an electric start model for her!

Ha same with the polaris 700. The wives sled but turned to the husbands sled cause their 800 were going down all the time.

My wife's sled is an 09 RMK 700 electric start,with full SLP exhaust. I still like to ride it my self.ES is a must as I never worry that she is left behind as I'm usually leading. Very reliable sled I did swap out the VR before I had any issues.

dont get an 08 summit. You can get an 09 for less then 6k

My wife rides an 08 M6 with a 153" track. reliable sled and it is super easy to ride. Also has pretty good power.

My girlfriend rides a 09 600 xp. S36 with t motion and 146" flex track. It is a fun sled!
