Just ordered my 2018 Ram 3500 Laramie Mega-cab yesterday to replace my 2015 with 100,000 kms on it, Did I need to? No, but how could I not when the dealer promised me a difference of only $15,000 and the 2018 now has more options. That is $5000/year of use for a fully loaded diesel truck, not bad. Also they are paying the GST back on the trade in as this is my company vehicle. Now need to wait for the new ride to be built and won't see it until October. I can also sell my truck privately in the mean time if I want. Anyone interested?? It is actually at 95,000 kms and has the gold coverage bumper to bumper warranty to 100,000.

Well without a $50,000+ trade you pay full GST on that entire amount so it's $15,000 more plus GST on the entire amount lol

Plus you are in the land of extra Tax. Ouch.

Yeah in this communist province you pay tax every time on the entire amount. Fricking criminal.

......so there's actually more incentive to buy new here because your paying tax on the whole shot no matter what.

Thinking of doing the same. With 0% financing it makes it even better. I could have a brand new truck for like an extra $150 a month and it still be paid for in 4 years exactly same as term left on my current truck, and a new truck instead of a 13 with 90km on it....

The biggest part I hate is dealing with the fawking dealership.

Only thing stopping me is the big dent on the side of my box from an idiot running into it. Was hoping to find a used replacement, but no such luck, or $3k to reskin the side.

Have you tried using premium gas in your Eco? Warm weather it makes a difference in mine up to 7L/100 km. Also take into consideration cost of diesel vs gas at the pump. Yesterday where I was it was 15c lower for gas

How is that fuel price comparison now?

Markets fluctuate not much I can do about that, I run a ecoboost gas and a 6.7 diesel as well.. both have there roles. I was just suggesting that he make a fully informed decision. Too many people own a diesel that really don't require them for their needs. To each there own.

Yep you are right. I probably wouldn't own a diesel either if I didn't pull trailers. I have a 2012 6.7l 2500 cummins and i have a 2007 5.7l hemi 1500. My diesel gets better fuel economy all around.
