Best Quad For The Money

In all you quadders opinions what is the best 4x4 quad out on the market right now for the money that they cost? Who has the best warranty? Best Financing?

Well from all the rides I went on last year almost every one was dominated by Yamaha Grizzlies.I also got a couple friends that bought the newer one with power steering and nothing but good things is what those guys say.I think they are good quads and my opinion is 100% based on popularity!

Thanks catmando. I'm just having a really hard time justifying the money to spend on a new sled, and am really considering moving to quads just cause it would be a year round play toy. My uncle has a new Arctic cat, i rode that last summer and liked it, so i guess its more of finding the machine i like riding the most.

I think the thing to ask yourself is what you want and what style of riding you're going to do.

A 400 to 650 is more than enough quad for your typical rider but if you want to be the baddest on the trail 700-800 is the way to go.

I agree with catmando, can't go wrong witht he Grizz. They've been making the Grizz for quite some time and I've ridden with a few guys on the new 700s and they seem to be solid units.

Can-Ams are getting to be very propular as well but their price point BLOWS. If it's just a toy and you don't need the utility but want the 4x4 check out the Can-Am Renegade 800. That things is bad ass!!!!

I bought my Outlander 800XT in November and I am still loving it. Just to give you an idea, the Arctic Cat 700 EFI, Grizz 700 and the Outty 800 were my short list and looked and just about everything.

ATV's

I had a 04 Honda Rubicon, Its a good work horse for hunting, working, clearing snow, ect. That was my first ATV. I bought a Bombardier 400, I am very pleased with it, you can go like heck and easy to ride. I ended up selling the Honda last week to a Hunter / Acredge owner, it will be happier there. Nothing against the honda they make a good product, seems to hold there value the best and no problems. The Bomb, just the brakes wear fast. Now my new Renagade 800, I wont be out with it till next weekend if its nice and I will let everyone know what thats like. I had a 97 Kodiak 400 and that unit was a good quad as well bulletproof. Not near as nice to drive as the bomb but it was a solid quad. Mud Rider owns that now..

I still haven't ridden another quad yet that I would trade my '05 700 Kingquad for, and I have taken my buddies 800 Can-Am for a rip. I pulled my bull elk out whole this fall no problem, about a 10 km pull.

I would have to say the kawasaki is the best bang for the buck. If moneys is no object i would say last year the outlander was at the top, this year the grizzly with efi and power steering has made the grade, however artic cat and suzuki have moved up as well.

If you want bullet proof, work it hard and put it away wet, go with a honda. They will never let you down. Now that can not be said with Honda's Rincon. The rincon is a great bike for touring and good ride. But if you are going to put it to work, you will be doing some maintenance with it. The honda Fourman 500s ES or Manual shift bikes are tough. I have rode a lot of different machines with IRS and I like them and will stick to them, as I like the ride. But I do own two of the 2007 fourman 500s with the Manual shifts. I bought these bikes just to work, pulling trailers and hauling heavy loads. I feel that these two bikes will work for me for years with little maintenance. Buy a bike with IRS and put it through the same workload and you will have some maintenance to take care of. What made me a true believer of Honda's endurance and strength is this little story. I was fortunate enough to go to Alaska last fall on a moose hunt with a good friend and outfitter of mine up there. He has two 300 hondas. He leaves them out in the Alaska wild year round as his area is fly in only. He flew these bikes in with his super cub in pieces. Put them together at his base camp and 8 years later that is where they still are. He flew to his camp a few days before I got there and found the one honda upside down and a couple of tires chewed up from a Grizzly bear. Took the tires off, needed a new battery, fresh oil and gas, the starter was shot, two kicks the thing fired up and went to work. These bikes never see 3rd gear hardly, the terrain is very rough. They will haul out a whole moose, (cape, horns, ALL of the meat) in two trips, so the little bikes are loaded to the nuts. The things are incredible and that is why when I got home, the old grizzlys were sold (also awesome great machines) and I purchased the hondas. Just my two cents worth and a cool little story. Good luck in buying your new quad, I know it is tough as there are so many good ones and such a huge variety that it makes it tough. One thing forsure, I believe they are all good, you just need to figure out what you will be doing with your machine to make sure you get the right one.

I bought a Kawasaki Brute Force 750i last spring and love it. I have not had any problems with it! Great quad.

Honda & Polaris

I have two honda 300's.... Small but great machines with low maintenance and run forever and hold there value. My dad has Polaris quads. They are good quads as well, require a little more maintenance... I don't have much to compare against... But both polaris and honda have been good to or family..

I bought an 06 Kawasaki KVF 700 and love it. The price was right plus it came with a 2 year warantee and a 2500lbs winch. So far i have about 700km on it and its been great. What sold me on this quad was the 2wd and 4wd switch and a manual diff lock.

I've got on 2006 Arctic Cat 400 4X4. It's auto, with fully independant susp. Has gone everywhere I've tried to go. It's nice to have the full size reciever hitch on it also. All the controls are close by and easy operate. I looked at the Kodiak's but the A\C's had a nicer/meaner look to them.

I just traded in my 05 Polaris 500 H.O. Had about 1200km, Too high mantainance and rad too low. Got the 750i Brute Force, Love the power, will let you know the facts when I get it in the mud.

newf there a great quad I bought on last spring and love it.
They have good power and are farly light.
I only put 400km on last year but not one issue.
Great quad for the buck!!!!

Honda 450S best quad, very little maintenance, hold there value the best. I have one 3500kms, no problems (just front wheel bearings replaced) what so ever and I have used it all the time in deep muskeg. My uncle has a 2000 Honda 450S, and has about 11,000kms on it of HARD, muskeg, constantly pulling a big trailer. Only had to put new wheel bearings all around, but this is due to the amount of water we run through. I ain't kiddin when I say hard miles, trust me. 3 people in the family have bought bombi also, 400's and a 650, seem to hold up, except 2 of them need new shocks and they also seem hard to start in the cold. Don't even consider Polaris, our whole family used to ride Polaris's back in the day (good old 2stroke 350's), then started to buy new ones 400's and a couple 500's. Every trip they had a problem, all a POS.

i have to agree with joshua335. My bro had a 93 350 and a 94 400 polaris. they were great quads but a maintenance nightmare.

Quad

This past fall I bought a new Bombi 500 outlander v twin. So far great machine. Fast and smooth cant even imagine what the 800 would be like. For me its great so far. Had a couple of polaris 250 2x4 before so anything is better. Used a friends 400 outlander and loved it so decided to stick with Bombi and try the 500. Fuel injection runs good no problem starting even when cold. Another friend has 2 new polaris 500 and they seem hard to turn best to be moving and then turn the wheels.

Hey HOGWILD and CUMMINSNORT, This is newf... yesterday I tried to cross a fast flowing river, before I got to the other side the current [and I do believe my tires ] took me over the dam. I was seat level in water, none got into my airbox, and I died. We pulled my brute 750i to shore and I got it facing up hill so as to drain water out tail pipe. Now by this time many had gathered to see what happened and all the experts said she woulden start until I pulled the plugs and changed the fluids etc... Well I checked the oil, no water, I pressed the electric start and pulled it over at the same time until I finally got the pull cord allthe way out [ 1 min ] then I let the cord go back in, opened the choke all the way , pushed the start button and away she went. while she blew the water out of her exhust , I pulled the drain plug for the belt and let that empty [the built in fan in the houseing will then dry it ] After 5 or so min I rode for the rest of the day, about 6 hours, with no problems. BY the way I went back and crossed the river in the same spot with a little more trottle and leaning foreward, my swamp lites tend to want to float...any suggestions.
