Best kind of hand held Compact Camera for winter action pics???

We're on the market for a new hand held compact camera and want to make sure we get something that works well for us. Looking for ease of use, ability to take quick quality action picks and take on everyday outings.

So far the Olympus XZ-1 but I'm wondering what other SMer's are using?

I am using the Finepix XP50 for quadding. It is waterproof, freezeproof, shockproof, dustproof which work out good as I have drowned 2 other cameras so far. I get excellent photos and surprisingly good videos from this camera. Also it is very well priced for what you get.

No they say freeze prof yes.

But take the batterys out and keep it warm.

Buddy bought the fine pix one. Had it in his front inner pocket ( cold wave jacket )
And took 3 pics with the battery cold.

Next day he left the battery out in his pants pocket. Lasted much longer but still not as long as it should.
He took it back and got a go pro.
