Best herbicide

Looking for the best herbicide for KILLING broadleaf trees on fence lines.
Don't want control want dead.
Saplings to 15'.
What have you had success with?
Roundup is out as I want grass to live to keeps weeds out.

You said “want dead, not control.” But then you want grass to grow also. Is this correct? I have a suggestion but she gonna be complete death.

Reclaim II can buy at UFA on case does 20 acres about $1000. Have to be a farmer, ie have legal land location to prove it.

This one is new to me but reads well. will have to find a retailer and what is required for controlled purchase.
Have done about 2 miles of fence line with Grazon, 10 liters was $300 so not bad on price.
Just wanting to try something else now as have about 6 more miles to go - experimenting.

Take a ½" spade bit, drill downwards in trunk if tree, approx. 45 degrees, as deep as possible, pour roundup inside, watch tree die.
Otherwise, you are best to cut them down. I doubt anything topical would be selective to eradicate trees, Maybe par3?

I have 6 miles of fence line to go and then some sled trails, way to many holes to drill....lol.
I will stick to the chemicals.
Might try one jug of Par3 though.

To mulch correctly and make it last you should kill the veg and trees first but 99% don’t and it grows back twice as thick.
Can do it the opposite also . Mulch and let it grow up a bit and spray .

We almost bought a mulcher for the the JD4230 but a good one is 24k and you still have to spray tight to fence.
Would work great on the sled trails.
Summer grooming lol.
One week on this sucker and I could do a lot of damage for sure.

Agreed. Par 3 for sure. We use it in town. Get in from a rural friend cause us town folk can’t buy it. Works great.

What’s the shat that fortis or other utility company’s use under the power lines?

They have sprayed the trees under the line beside my property a couple time, and mulched once since 2006.

The poison they use kills the saplings dead but the downside was it looks shatty for a while. (Maybe not a concern for fence line control). But the all the saplings turns brown. The dead leaves don’t even fall of the trees come winter and then maybe another season. Then it takes a few years of them standing dead before they will fall down easy if your driving over them. But lasts for a bunch of years.

The one Time they mulched under the line the saplings sprouted out the mulched beaten root systems very quickly.
