Best gps for sledding

The rino has a location button that drops the pin - I dunno I see lots of them on the hill except for the people I ride with which is horrendous - i love the rino

The rino was good but now i think the phone with a gps app is the best way. I still use my rino but when it dies i will switch

I cant believe there isn't some app that can be used as a buddy system. Everyone has their own fob, each person links to everyone in their group and can see there location on the mountain. Whos tech savy???

They have existed for years. Things like find my iPhone, but they require cellular service which is unreliable to nonexistent in the mountains. Bluetooth has a range of about 100’ - you’d be better off using your avi beacon.

I like the looks of the Lynq Smart Compass but not sure how well they would work once in the mountains with trees and other obstacles.

For Heli 1331. I just mounted the base to my gauge support. I also bought the USB kit from skidoo to power up accessories. The only issue it the trail tech battery is basically just for memory, so you will need to add in a battery somewhere. I have a couple options I am working on and will post once I find one that works good.

This is exactly what I have been looking for but can't tell if the beacon buddy feature works offline. Will give it a go this season, thanks for the info.

Was out in -25 yesterday and the Tread worked fine. Screen was a tiny bit laggy but the touch worked normal.

I used the included mount and clamped it to the steering post. It is meant to be temporary until my new sled shows up, which I plan on bolting it to the plastic panel next to the factory gauge just like snowflake did in his post above. Being up so high though, it stays clear of snow, but I'd rather it didn't turn with the steering. It doesn't seems to be a problem rolling the sled. A friend mounted it the same way, but on the other side of the riser.

Yes, it comes with the GPS. It is for the buddy tracking function.
