Wasnt there a 500 dollar amount thrown around on one of these discussions???

It started as $1,000. No takers.
Reduced to $500. No takers.
Further reduced to $100. Still no takers.
After KD whooping, an offer to take the $100 bet was tabled. Yes, someone said that.

Right? I kinda like the Tra also. It’s kind of a pain to tune on the hill but I like the way it performs.
My sheave angles are cut to my specs and I put the starter ring back on is all the changes I have done with it.
Nice - I am a complete newb when it comes to the sheave angles - but I customized a dj clutch kit with a different primary spring than he calls for and completely different pin weight and man I'm telling you it is working very well - my buddy Dave Sebelius has helped me out alot with this

You stock bolt on clutch parts changers are hilarious. When yer done patting yerselves on the back and wanna graduate from clutching elementary school, set aside the ego and just look past the end of yer driveway.

This entertainment is great. It’s very interesting to see how some people react to different situations. But like I said, very entertaining. Carry on.

What is very interesting is how some people just assume others knowledge and expertise, or lack thereof, and just beatdown with candid remarks.

I saw your clutch setup with the the cat secondary. I’d say Dave Sebelius knows a thing or two about clutching. Where Is he from? I have seen the same with the DJ setup.

A better analogy for sleds is Airplanes or boats thrust. It's thrust, not traction, when climbing.
Thrust =weight of snow(water or air)*velocity.
You can either throw more weight at same speed, but will only attain slightly less than that speed.
Or you can throw less snow at an instant(shorter track) but throw it a lot faster.

Either way, the sled that is throwing more TOTAL WEIGHT of snow per second backwards/weight of sled and rider will be the winner.

Fast boat performance depends on prop slip(traction). The best is between 12-15%. You can increase or decrease prop slip by changing gear ratio, changing the prop pitch or prop diameter to coincide with the optimum rpm range the engine is built for. Kinda like sleds.

I bet you meant jet boat propulsion. A jet boat is a good example of thrust propulsion.

An airplane propeller propulsion is different than sled propulsion. Think of a hard ice surface with picks on your track. Lotsa traction. In floofy poofy snow ❄️ the snow shooting out the back doesn’t really do much. Possibly a bit but I don’t how one could measure it. It There was a discussion on another thread about the thrust of snow but not much came if it.

On my xm I just have the dj helix and spring in the secondary- seems to work 1000 times better than stock for both downhill and uphill - for what I need it works flawless - Dave Sebelius is in North Dakota I think - check out his Facebook page Dave's performance shop - he knows a sh*t tonne about sleds he has been doin it for years - he has helped me get my xm to be the 850 doo boondocker destroyer that it is today - I've got witnesses of the absolute destruction that my sled unleashes on an 850 BD - too bad the EBC on it doesn't sense when it's getting destroyed by a dinosaur xm and turn up the boost a bit more EBC such a sales gimmick - on another note I wonder how many silber airboxes silber has had to send in the mail in the past few months?

Dave and I haven’t met but we have the same mutual friend, Duane Watt from Paragon. Duane sez good things about Dave.

Love the beat down stories about your dinosaur xm. Them old things can get it.

Is there a certain sled shop that installed the sidekick and boondocker turbos? Should you name names and shame them? Maybe they deserve another shot mid season to let the shops set them up a bit better.

I was gonna lend you my sled for the holidays but you banned me from your FB page. Roberge will have to double you now. Haha

Will the annual “rave at the ice cave” be happening this year?
