It's the labour that blew it through the roof. Easily fixable.
The labor to remove & install a complete tunnel is 26 hours, even less for BRP warranty no where near that much work to swap out what you say is damaged. A estimate of 12 hours and $1,200 in parts = $2,340.00 @ a shop rate of $95.00. I think you need a total damages of $6,000.00 to toast it and salvage for $3,500.00 = $9,500.00. sorry but the wrap dont add value, there has to be something missing here.
My brother did a Summit 2 years ago with 146 kms, more damage, spent $1,100.00 in parts and the shop had a tunnel that was bent, did not need to be changed, s mod & e mod was bent, control arm.

I have an estimate for a skidoo dealer of 50 hrs at $99.00 = $4950 Labour
Even though im sure it could be done in 1/4 the time.

Parts: they have every bolt nut washer rivet Scratched plastic,Sticker Total of $3700

Labour $4950+$3700 =$8650
Estimate Charge $300
GST $447.5
GRAND TOTAL$9397.50 + 20% Cusion

They were going to fix it at this price Which i really do not understand.

We came to the Conclusion i would get $6750 and keep the sled, this way no Tow Trucks nothing were needed.

Now for anyone in their right Mind to Fix it, it needs 1- Lower Left A-arm, 1-S-Module,1- E-module and any Bolt Washer that may be needed (Buy at you Local Hardware store)1/4 the price of Doo bolts.

Estimate $1200+/- $200.

However you could get away with pounding it out the best you could, getting a buddy to tack up the E-Module where the crack is, and getting a Lower A-arm.

$200 and a Case of Beer on a Friday Night.

Either Way im not ripping anyone off, I Need $3500 (Stock)which is $250 more than buy back and By the way I was keeping all my Aftermarket at the $10000 they gave me for the sled.

If no one wants it at $3500 Ill Drink my own Beer, while using my own Hammer, and buy my own A-arm, and ill ride it for the rest of the year.

Just trying to Pass it on to a Fellow S&M Member.

Thanks,

Aaron

Not sold taking offers, i have one member who wanted to drive out and give me a deposit for me to give him First right of refusal. His Bid is $3500(Stock)

I will not sell any aftermarket as i will be using it on my new sled.

Well maybe the 141x2.25x15 Track thats it.

Aaron I knew something was up, that dealer should be shot with a ball of his own Sh!t, That is a screwed up shop, but at least you did OK on the value.

Its really not the dealers fault, They need to put Cusion in there to cover their bottoms, as well as they need to do the Job right, for legal and Safty matters. They had it written up as a Whole new Tunnel and everything, even though the tunnel is not Damaged. Which actually Helped me out on what i got back for my sled.

They also base their estimate on Ski-doo's Flat rate, so in reality Ski-doo should be shot with their own ch!t. haha

Either way it is what it is and i will be buying a new sled from the Dealer as they will give me a hell of a deal.

2011 Summit SP 800 154, 1 Yr warrenty. $12400 OTD $300 more then i can find a 2010 anywhere in alberta.

how does registration on that sled work now???

does the title show as salvage? does it have to be inspected/certified prior to registration? when a person gives the vin to the insurance company in order to ad it to a policy will it show up as salvage? will the new insurance company want to touch it?

The sled will be as Salvage, it would need an inspection Prior to Insuring it and registering it.

I bought my 08 m1000 as a write off. I fixed up the things that needed fixing.Call my insurance company and told them i wanna put insurance on my new to me snowmobile. They took the vin # punched it in. They told me its a 08 m1000.I said yes. They asked is there any visible or unrepaired damage. I said nope.(because i fixed it). They didn't ask if it was a write off or anything like that. I put coverage on it for 8500.00.Went to the registry's and put a plate on it done deal. No hassle ,No salvage inspection or nothing. It was like buying something new.

You are correct, sleds write offs do not have to be flagged with the motro v. branch.

Even Better thanks i did not know that.

I may just fix it and then sell it for 6000 next season. The sled has a Brand new Top end with 200 km.
