Bent A arms ??

Hey guys so it looks like I bent one a arm. Curious what ever one is replacing them with? I would rather bend them then the bulk head. The one side is for sure bent. But I am unsure if the other one is? I have attached a picture. Are they supposed to drop down like that ?

You could probably straighten that. Put on Tethair's arm candy and it won't happen so easy again.

I've ran Alt Impact and Zbroz. I recommend Alt Impact. I would recommend avoiding Zbroz.

Chrisco is now carrying a new manufacturer’s arms that go by the name trenchers. He has posted a few pictures of a 18 that he was throwing together just a few days ago and that machine is sporting the arms. Take a look at them, the look good from what I can tell and they are a Canadian company.

Quick shout out to Chris and the performance of his Arm Candy as we had bent a couple of A-arms on our Axys due to those darn "Jumping Trees" that got in the way! Ha, ha! Since putting on the Arm Candy we've had very good protection and have not bent any despite hitting a couple of good sized tree trunks (8-10"). Maybe it has been a little luck too, but definitely a good option if you don't want to spend big bucks on new aftermarket arms.

Did you end up bending the Zbroz?? Or what was it you didn’t like?
I’ve got their complete front end, arms, spindles, bushings and shocks, and am loving it.
To me it seems very well made and has taken some hits that scared me. Too expensive but...

My Zbroz are hanging in there through some pretty stiff hits and even clotheslining a thick tree trunk while carving at decent speed. That last hit crushed the tube a fair bit, but it still seems fine. Other signs of the abuse I've dished out are the spots of flaking paint at joints and the broken spindle. So toughness-wise, I have no complaints about the Zbros 36" arms' toughness.

My complaints are:
1. Having to re-use your plastic inner bushings from factory sucks unless you have the _perfect_ punch equipment. And even then, I find the tolerance is very poor and it makes for a sloppy inner arm joint. I've taken the step of buying more inner pivot washers and trying to fill the void that way. I was able to add 4 washers over the 8 inner joints, and if I had half-width washers I could have added those on the remaining 4 joints. Compare with the Alt Impacts, with come with beautifully machined delrin(?) bushings. Net result, your factory arms are useless and worth almost nothing because you just stole the inner bushings out of them.
2. The exact same complaint as above, this time for the outer pivots / spherical bearings. Need perfect equipment to get factory ones out, and it tends to lead to a sloppy outer pivot/spherical after all that force to swap them. And again, your factory arms are now pretty much scrap metal at this point. Compare with Alt Impacts, with well designed outer pivots that are designed to be quickly and easily replaceable on the hill.
3. The Zbroz require that you grind away at your spindles to allow full steering travel over the entire suspension travel. What kind of bullcrap is this?
It's literally 4 times as much work to swap to Zbroz as it is Alt Impacts, and with Alts you can turn around and sell your factory arms, or keep them with you and they can be used as spares in an emergency.

Yup, that all makes sense. I guess I would just add that going with the full Zbroz system addresses all that but is expensive.

You can get their arms with their brass oilite bushings which are perfectly machined to take up all the side play as well, and can have them come with ball joints installed.
This made my factory arms an easy sale.

The Zbroz spindles are also an big upgrade over stock as far as strength, drag, and ski width adjustability. Also they don’t need grinding so again makes selling the factoriy parts easy and offsets the cost.

All this requires shorter shocks for 36” system, costly again but a great upgrade going to the Exits.

In summary, I would say the complete Zbroz system is top notch but definitely easier choices if going with a partial or less costly setup.
