Belt burnup

I have a brand new mxz 800r adrenaline. I had a belt burn up on me yesterday and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. It actaully melted a circle into the drive belt. I am tryin to understand why this might have happened before I put a new belt on.

Belt slippage and then excessive heat due to the slippage is likely what caused the belt to fail.

What caused the belt slippage is the mystery. Snow on clutches? Bad belt? motor alignment? Is the parking brake on? Was there ice in the track that was causing lots of rolling resistance?

you have a brand new mxz, did you break the belt in or jump on the sled and open it up to 8000 for a few miles?

There could be some underlying issues but it helps to have more info before trying to identify the issues.

park brake left on. stuck in snow with belt lower in the secondary, riding wiht brake on. your a biger guy and should have different gearing. runing clickers on all different setting. didnt brake in belt properly. the list goes on. get some pics of the belt and cltuch and maybe might be able to get some better answers on this

I have read the 800rs make a lot of heat may look at putting on a vent kit

What is the ???? for, its an honest post! I use lots of sites for info and that site caters to doo owners with doo questions and if its an issue with a particular model of sled they can usually answer it faster.

If there is info I find there that is important for riders on here, I share it.

May we all burn for ever using another site other than this one.

Thanks everyone.. I brought it to the dealer since its under warranty. They said that the engine and pullies were off. Its not my first toy so I knew not to jump on her and crank it, thats y I was worried.
