I learned to ride in the mountains on a brand new 800 summit. I loved it cause once I got the hang of things I could follow those guys almost anywhere and climb almost any hill they were. Granted I had good teachers (those crazy guys from Sled Necks and Sled Porn) I bought an 800 not because I wanted the best but because I didn't want to go back to the shop and buy a new one later. You can have all the power between your legs, doesn't mean you have to use it all the time It's about people being responsible about what they have and about being responsible about the others around you!
i replied to a thread in pretty much the same manner about the same type of topic a while back and got bashed for it. if i remember right the kid was trying to decide on a 6 or 800 machine. i recomended the 600 as it was his first machine. to which everyone replied then he will be stuck all the time and won't get anywhere.
learn to ride right first and a 600 will follow an 800+ anywhere it will go but be 10 times the fun. no point and shoot so to speak as it is not a huge power mahine. very well said just hope some people listen to statements like this one.
