Had one on an M1K, the stock shelf is garbage - you will find that powder snow accumulates under the shelf around the filter. I made one from thin aluminum and sealed to the bellypan with RTV sealant. Performance increase? Not noticeable, other then additional intake noise...
I didnt like mine ...I run the speedwerx snowpro intake on my 7 now.
With the bdx one they tell you to drill your nose cone out and put there vent kit it. This is all fine and dandy IF you only ride mtns what happens around here is guys ride thru stubble or low bush and this fawks those vents right up by puttin tons of holes in them and when you ride the mtns or really deep pow snow gets in and plugs the intake right up.
If your buying new i would reccomend the speedwerx one but if your gettin a killer deal on the bdx dont install the nose cone vents unless you ride 100% mtns.
Are the BDX nose cone vents just cheap product??? I got Mo-Flow nose cone vents on my sled and i ride mountains and the flatlands i don't have a problem. The vents are quite strong though and have the perfilter on the inside so the snow doesnt pile in. With a hole saw i just drilled 2 holes on each side through the intake box and then put my Mo-Flow vents on the nose cone and it is good to go. Very cheap and it looks good
i have one on my 07 m1000 i like it alot. it is kinda a pain drilling all the holes but it looks good when it is done. i sealed my belly pan as well. but i see the problem that guys are having riding in brush.
