I would be more inclined to go with Snowpulse, unless BCA has changed their trigger in the last couple years. I tried one out, and it was super difficult to set off. Love my Snowpulse bag, but if I were to get a new bag, I would either get an ABS or Snowpulse.

My BCA trigger was just fine. Dont think the hard pull affected them all. Having said that I sold my 30 and went to Snowpulse. Looked long and hard at the Throttle but I like the idea that my shovel is buckled to the outside back of the SP.

I'm sure they are both great.

The new float 32 from bca is an amazing pack. there are reasons that the shovel/probe etc are stored on the inside of most packs. not even mentioning the ching saved on the pack itself, BCA is a huge supporter of all things sledding and gives back a lot to the industry. The local reps are two wicked peeps as well, you cant go wrong with bca

At the store, we carry both Brands. I like the fact that they are filled with compressed air and refilling a tank is usually easy peasy. Agreed, Dwayne and Deb are awesome BCA reps, but Chuck from Mountain Sports Distribution is epic when it comes to Dealer support as well.

I personally wear a Snowpulse bag and like it very much. The bag I have is smaller, but I can still fit all my stuff in it for survival.

We both wear BCA Float 30, they fit well, hold all of our survival gear.
We set them off a couple times a season, at the start of the season checking them over and again half way through the seaon....inexpensive and easy to maintain.....

I was using a borrowed Snowpulse Highmark 30 for the last couple years. The time came to buy my own, I looked at all of them and settled on the BCA Float 22 Throttle. Worked best for me size and fit wise. BCA is a great supporter of our sport (which can't be said for some other companies), it's priced right and the features built into the system make sense.

Actually all the avy bag companies support the sport of snowmobiling huge. With money to avy safety, donation of products to different clubs and avy promotions and many other things most people would be unaware of! There is no avy bag company out there that does not help out in some significant way, you may just just not be aware of it or privy to it as most don't make a big stink about it on the forums!

I did alot of research before buying my bag. As far as bags go your best with either the Snowpulse or the ABS. I went ABS as i like the idea of 2 seperate bags that inflate. If one side fails there is still another bag. Shovel attaches to the outside, and what was important to me was the fact that the ABS canister & trigger are certified for airline travel. For me that was key, as i fly from Edmonton to Kelowna as we leave the sleds in Sicamous. The BCA bags are junk, as you'll notice everyone that has one is selling them. They basically have a pillow that blows up behind your head. Thats my 2 cents, but in the end decisions are based on personal preference and of course $$$. Your life is priceless, don't cheap out on it!

How is it for heat? I'm thinking of one, but worried I'd be too hot wearing it. I'm generally too warm just wearing a base layer and shell.

When companies are supporting organizations that are doing their damnedest to shut us out of riding areas, I don't consider that to be snowmobile friendly.

I lost a friend a number of years ago in a major slide in Utah. I understand what Snowpulse is trying to do with the wrap around head protection, but what it amounts to is a warm and fuzzy feeling for the user. In a major avalanche where blunt force trauma is the major issue, that bag full of air around your head isn't going to save you from a broken back or other trauma if you're swept through trees. The whole purpose of these things is to attempt to keep you on top of the snow. As far as saying BCA are junk, you're really showing how misinformed you really are. BCA's venturi system is one of the only ones that will operate with pressure against it. I've been using a Snowpulse bag for the last 2 years. I didn't go into this blind.

I ended up going with the BCA Float 18, super small, but just enough room for avy gear, spare gloves touque etc, price on sale was half of the others around. Liked that the trigger was on the right shoulder so you could stay on the throttle if needed and also liked they used compressed air. I've been using BCA gear for many many years and have never had an issue with any of it. All said, I would think you can't lose getting any of them..my.02
