This guy is living in a world with unicorns and triple rainbows. People in BC need to get a PC party together and wipe these greenies out. I guess next election he shouldn't be driving his bus, sure he used more fuel up in the last one than I used in 30 years, what a hypocrite

The BC Liberals will be as close as you get to a Conservative party out here. Politics are different on the left Coast and it is driven by the lower Mainland greenies.

I don't think the current electrical grid in BC could support this........

A good portion of the electrical needs will go to all the weed grow ops that have replaced the green houses growing vegetables. Won’t the greenies be in for a shock when all that is available in green houses is pot.

I'm thinkin anyone involved in powerline construction is gonna be busy for the foreseeable future. I might have to make a career change.Wonder if I could BS my way into some kinda high paying executive position???
Not a hope in hell it could! But they will rebuild it and upgrade it, then jack your power bill up 500% to pay for the construction. Win win for everyone but the guy with a cord in one hand and a set of keys for your electric unit in the other!

You setting up shop in BC?

Kelowna has a fleet of electric taxi's, i see them regularly, summer and winter.

IMO i like electric technologies but hey that's me.

I bought last July a Milwaukee electric chain saw(battery operated 12amp hr lithium) and just for the heck i compared it to my small gas saw. 32cc. Both with 18" bars and brand new chains. The Milwaukee kicked the poop out of the gas saw, no contest.
The electric saw was faster and cut 156 cuts on one charge. The gas saw is noisey as "F" and ran out of fuel at 94 cuts...go figure..electric technologies SUCK

BTW the wood cut was pin averaging in size 8-12". I could had used my bigger Stihl saw but hey it's electric right, it should be dead in a dozen cuts.

Face it, times are changing.

Also need to add that what happens when gasoline/fuel use is decreased significantly? Look how much taxes are on a litre of gas. Taxes used for road upkeep, etc. Whats gonna replace that money? More taxes on electricity.
Soon electricity will cost more than in Ontario and people will have a choice of either charging up their car and driving to work or heating their home and not being able to get to work.

Going to need a whole lot more dams in BC to supply the electricity. Wonder how the lower mainland would feel about that then? Announce on the news that 10 new hydroelectric dams are needed in the province to power the electric cars of the future...

Some real news about charging a tesla. 4% power to get to work (10k) and if you leave it plugged in all day on 110 it recharges 1%. My son has a 220 80 amp charging station at home though. Your Alberta government announced thousands of charging stations after shutting down all your generating stations. And climate Barbie is using your tax dollars for her testla. Ever wonder how green those batteries are??

Standard 110volt 15amp outlets really don't have that much power so that's to be expected. The only reason to plug an electric car into one is because there is no other charger around, or you are at work, school, etc where you can get the power for free.

thanks X-it, which model of Tesla is that, whereabouts, time of year etc? I have no doubt the advertised ranges are under "ideal circumstances" so nice to hear some real world input. Using 4% to go 10km would put the range at 250km

The 80000 dollar one, that was a from few days ago at pg. Cold weather I am thinking heating will be a real issue, just talk though no real results. He said it is best to keep the batteries between 40-70% charge or they wear out faster. I will say the acceleration is unreal

He has been waiting for months for his winter tires, if I had to guess it is the model3 all wheel drive. BC will be running out of gas this winter there will be an extra drag on our electric grid.

Considering most homes only have 100 amp electrical services an 80 amp charge at 240 everything will be overloaded pretty fast.

Your panel, service feeders, the transformer at the street, and everything upstream of that.

They should do a study on how toxic the smoke is for the environment when all that shat is smoking from excessive load!

Anybody have feedback on if these vehicles can heat the interior and keep the windows clear in -30c?

Lots of battery powered tools now a-days but a heater uses lots more power.
