06 has zero emissions,2007.5 with the 6.7 has a dpf filter and egr, so there you go same model looks the same other then the badges you don't even know the difference how will a dot officer or rc know with no knowledge of these trucks.

So with that little bit of info all they have to do is lift the hood. If they are going after people for emissions you would hope they know the difference. But either way once they start enforcing more and more even if you have an older truck rolling coal it will be a huge waste of your time once you get pulled over. It is one of the reasons I went back to gas. The emission crap is costly. I replace two nox sensors and a scr today. Parts alone where about 10 grand. Good thing it was covered under warranty. Truck was almost new with less then 50k kms on it.

Good for you going to gas, I need a diesel and you think that if they lift the hood these rcmp and dot officers will know the difference, and to the gentleman that shared all those links take a look at where and how all the Def fluid comes from and the plastic manufacturer plants and how bad those manufacture plants are for the environment and for us.
And yes the emissions crap is expensive the problem is all these guys drive these jacked up diesels and set there tuner on extreme and blow unburnt fuel out there exhaust, they should restrict the morons that buy these trucks, my truck is deleted and tuned and I very rarely blow black smoke and if I do its pulling a trailer and I'm passing somebody, I would love for my truck not to blow smoke unfortunately I am not able to have a deleted truck that will not.

I do hope they will come up with something better soon. But I haven't heard of anything coming down the pipeline. It would be nice to have the same fuel economy and power as a deleted truck but with the same emission output like they have now in stock form.

Don't cut off my head on this statement as i'm just stating some info. i have read awhile back.
The state of California pretty much leads north america when it comes to emission law's and have been for many year's now. The auto industry has been largely regulated by congress through many law's passed in California. Though it takes time for many of these law's to reach Canada and it appears different provinces have slightly different requirement's in meeting certain standards. Eventually they get here.
My understanding is in the State of California, diesel's are somewhat outlawed and NO diesel vehicles can be sold new or new used. As for used in the state of California for a diesel vehicle, it is considered new till it reaches 7500miles and only then it can be sold and registered as a used vehicle.
This though doesn't apply to commercial vehicles.
My point is, it would not surprise me that in the very near future that we see a very similar law passed here. Making your diesel toy hauler unavailable and possibly illegal.
Food for thought...its what i have read.

I think Deleting emissions systems from diesel engines is hurting us all.

So many losers "rolling coal" in traffic from red light to red light or burping the throttle at every opportunity...Idiots.

The next crackdown will be on limo black window tint, and no doubt some of us with a medium tint will get caught up in it.

A few idiots can ruin it for the rest of us.

This sucks. I mean, I can see where they're coming from. We all know it's illegal to tamper with Gov regulated emissions equipment. But as stated above, it's all the boneheads ruining it for us.

Could get very expensive for some guys out there who get caught and are flagged. Especially if you live in BC and don't have your stock parts to put back on.

I really, really don't feel like putting my stock parts back on. And losing that extra power. Not to mention it cuts the life span of these motors. Saddest thread ever.

Where is my head chopping axe!!! Sorry Lund, you walked right into that one lol. Perhaps true but not likely anytime soon. That would just be so sad. love my diesels and yes I'm bone stock as I use them and replace them often. The emission systems are getting better every year.

Well i'm with you, i'ed hate to see it come to that. I also like my diesel truck, been driving diesel trucks since 1995 and currently going on my third one, i have a hard time seeing me drive a gas pot, especially pulling the jetboat in the mountian passes. Time will tell i guess.

I'm thinking this emission issues is not a new thing. I remember back in the late 70 and 80 when the smog crap hit the gas pots. Remember the tomato can? What the hell was that lol...we are now so policed and there are more people on the pay roll to enforce the matter. The old days are always better then the days to come but if you ran diesels in the past I'm sure you'll remember them being slugs...if pulling off your emissions makes your truck run better or provides you with more power then look back to the old gm 6.2 or a ford navistar, you'll love your new 6.7 better then ever.
Ps I ran a 09 6.4 full delete with a big spartin tune etc....wow! yep loved it. So please don't think I'm picking on the deleted guys. I've been there.

Sucks for guys like me who bought used with the trucks already deleted. I only run a stock tune though, barely smokes if I really punch it so hopefully I don't get caught. Once again another good thing ruined by douchebags.

In BC it is now illegal for a dealer to sell a truck with a modified emissions system. This has forced dealers to not accept them on trade until returned to stock. Some dealerships are ignoring this, but if you buy one from a deal that has been modified you have the right to return it to the deal to have it refurbished to factory stock.

Yes we know, I've been getting away with a medium tint forever. What I was saying is that the new "cool" thing is limo blacked out side windows which will start a new round of window tint enforcement...

Gotcha, yah sometimes you can get away with it until others go overboard then they will clamp down...just like a small burn out, not really something the man should give us sh#t over until someone lays a 100 ft patch past the rcmp station. Still funny but wrong!

A buddy told me he was in a state park in California last fall. A couple of state officials showed up and went from campsite to campsite inspecting all the tow vehicles both gas and diesel. Any with the catalytic converters removed on a visual inspection were tagged and the owners were informed they had to report for an emissions test. He questioned their authority over him as a Canuck and was told that it's federal law in both the U.S. And Canada and that removing emissions equipment made the vehicles illegal to operate on the road. The next day he was talking to the guy in the next campsite and was told that he'd seen this before and that it had happened where owners had been forced to tow their vehicles for testing. Needless to say my buddy was glad we installed a cat back exhaust on his truck ( after we gutted the cat and re-installed it). It wasn't that we were that smart, he just preferred the quieter sound with the cat body ahead of the noisier muffler.

The eco nazis are getting out of control.
