BC and deleted truck

Heard a rumor by a guy i know that got hassled in BC because his truck is deleted. Apparently their building two smog stations on the highway to valemount and revy, $1500 fine. Anyone else hear of this?

One of our trucks with delete was pulled over in Kamloops weigh station,they noticed the big space between the cab and the deck and kept him there for a couple of hours.
That truck is no longer allowed in BC.
Alberta regulations say you can't delete either but to my knowledge are not enforcing yet.

it's legit. was just talking to my brother in law yesterday, he got stopped after he passed a semi this side of blue river and a cop spotted his black cloud. RC escorted him for inspection to tete jaune, they had an emissions check deal there 2 weeks ago looking for commercial carriers with delete kits. $950 in fines including one for his light bar, they made him get a tow company to haul his truck back to the AB border. license plate and VIN flagged, not allowed back into BC unless put back to stock. gonna be some pissed off red plates this summer

It is on its way here. Legally when I do a CVIP and there is a delete kit on it I am supposed to fail it on the spot. That has always been that way. Anyone doing cvi's on deleted trucks and passing them risk being fined huge as well as losing there license. Same for the shop that is doing it too. That is for 1 ton and up commercial vehicles. It isn't an issue yet for personal vehicles but it is only a few years away I think. BC sounds like they are there and will enforce more and more. It sucks as the systems do clean up the air and run well when they work but far too many issues with the current systems. Keeps me busy though I guess.

If emissions deleted diesels with hid's were banned there wouldn't be many sledders from ab in bc.

Our trucks running Cummings isx we have deleted.My DD16 has had no issues.

Did you guys keep the stock components? Always keep them just in case you have to reinstall. The engines run what better deleted, but it is nice being able to run trucks in a shop without stacks. If you do the deletes I suggest to remove your dpf and score and find ones that are NFG. Gut them out or what ever you wish but keep your stuff if it is in good shape. At some point you may have to reinstall it and you don't want to pay for new stuff.

What happens if you have a older truck that blows black smoke that never had emissions are the police or dot going to know if your vehicle is suppose to have emissions on it, there's probably some out there that no witch truck would or would not have emissions but I'm guessing not many do , to me this is a joke and just another way for the government to get more money so they can spend it on useless crap, I drive a deleted truck for the reason I can't afford for the Def to freeze if I'm way up in the backcountry after a day of sledding or camping with my trailer, also would really be unfortunate if my truck goes into limp mode while I'm pulling a fifth wheel down a back road with no service because some piece of crap emission part failed.

If it did not come with the emissions then smoke it up, they can't say sh#t. As for the excuse my def freezes or I don't want it to derate....well they don't care and they have more money and time then you or me combined. I know this, you will look a lot dumber watching your truck get towed away then just excepting it. I agree the deleat is awesome but after my b.s run in I'm just going with new and keeping it stock....

BC has been tight on emissions.. Vancouver area had some kind of program to test emissions on vehicles b4 insuring.. My Ford diesel has a dpf delete/intake/programmer and i frequent BC never having an issue. Cautious when i decide to roll coal though.. EPA is an enforceable law and lifted diesel in BC are a cop target for sure, just give them a reason..
Inspection of emissions control will be part of a commercial CVIP.. Think it's whitecourt scale that has a heat sensor and by the exhaust temp can tell if it's been deleted as the truck exhaust system is much cooler compared to the 450c regen.

Guys are just going to have to learn to keep there foot out of it when in BC this winter, if there's no black cloud your chances of being stopped will be minimized. :)

I have 270000 on my 11 f350 and it's totally stock. I work in the bush and pull a 16x8 enclosed job trailer and also use truck for personal use also. Sledding and camping so it's always being worked. Not one issue yet with the exhaust fluid or regen system. I'm averaging anywhere from 11.6 to 18.4 l/100km from empty to towing so I don't think you get better than that deleted or not. how many people out there own diesels and don't really need one. They need to be worked to work properly. They are not built to be soccer delivery vehicles

It has always been illegal to tamper with vehicle emissions systems and it looks like the gov't is finally going to tap into that cash cow.....DPF is the cost of owning a new diesel and I like the lack of stink from the new diesels as a result of the emissions systems.....I suspect in the future the gov't will crack down on dealerships that service truck without DPF's and let them leave the building

As for the comment about an older truck. It is pretty obvious what a new truck with emissions looks like vs an older truck without.
