Anybody using an Odyssey drycell battery? They pack a ton of power and sound like they will out last most anything else out there. Just thinking it would be good for those of us doing alot of winching or people with stereos. Cost quite a little but stalled on the trail with nobody around doesn't appeal to me either.

Check em out!

I installed two Odyssey batts into boat before, i believe the military uses them too.
Battery Direct( in saskatoon,sk) 1-306-934-6565 Its the only place i've found them.
Normal quad batts are about 180 -200 crank amps, the odyssey's are about 580 to 600 ca.
The only chitty thing is, u have to take in ur battery to get it sized up so an oddysey will fit in its place.

Can a guy's starter take such a high amount of cranking amp. If I read right it sounds like these put out 2 or 3 times a nomal Batt.

It's not the amount the starter can handle, it's the amount the start requires and the battery can maintain.

Most automotive starters take about 100-200amps, also another reason why some manufacturers have gear reduction starters.

I'm running an odessey 925 in my rzr I picked it up from Lordco in maple ridge bc they got it from a battery distributer in vancouver. I had to make a larger battery box for it.

Did you have to make the box or just choose to, I was reading on rzr forum that the 925 fits in the stock box when tilted on its side.

I didn't try it on it's side but it definitly won't fit upright. It is also fairly heavy to put in the stock plastic box so I made an aluminum box to handle it

Just another thumbs up for the odyssey's. Their higher capacity and ability to accept higher charging rate makes all electric loads and charging systems last longer. Also, they are a dry cell, you can position it upside down if you want. No I'm not a salesman, just a loyal user.

it is harder on a starter to crank over with a dead (low) or less cranking power battery.......there is a thing called electro magnetic force.....when you dont have good power this kills starters! sorry for the physics class lol.......put the most CCA battery you want into it.......it wont hurt it!

Then I wounder why we have so many Batteries on the shelves with such low cca's? Is it just that they are so much cheaper to produce? Thanks Guy's
