Is the Baldy Mtn trail ok for a 90cc kids quad? My son has moderate experience on trails but if I let him bring his quad there for the day I want it to be fun for the both of us.

Hmm that's sounds a bit risky if he were to lose control for any reason. Good advice, thanks Rzrgade!

Yeah he can ride in the commander with me for the trip. Lots of trails he can ride where falling off a cliff isn't a risk haha

He is no longer up there, he was always welcoming to folks that would walk to his tower and visit.
The new person has signs up that no one is allowed into the "yard" site, so no visiting in the tower Anymore.

That's too bad it would've been cool to visit the tower with my son. Would the trip up to the tower and back still leave some time to check out some of the trail heading east from nordegg in the same day?

The new tower guy and his wife are awesome. He is a very friendly guy but he has a lot more work to do than in the past. Not a lot of time to visit. Just remember that is his home for the summer.

He loves showing kids the weather reporting stations.

Online info quoted:

As you approach the summit you'll notice fencing on the side of the road. The area is a fragile alpine environment and work is being done to reclaim damage from past use. Stay on the road, the views of Abraham Lake and the Siffleur Range ahead are worth it.

Stay on the fire road - the meadow is a fragile alpine environment.
The fire lookout is a work area and a residence. While some employees like the company and may welcome you to the lookout, keep in mind that it is a private area and stay outside the fence unless you're invited in.

Ya it has been awhile, i thought i had seen signs to stay on gravel road, even if there are no signs common sense says stay off grassy areas takes decades to grow back

The latest maps I have show Coliseum trail and mountain to be only for non motorized users "unless otherwise posted". Anyone know if we can ride this trail this year? Or alternatively the ridge line trail up to coliseum mountain?

Coliseum has been closed to motorized traffic for a few years.

if you can get your hands on a pluz map they have most of the trails we are allowed on , but you are still required to check the forestry web site for up to date closures and openings. it is your responsibility to find out. as they can and will hand out tickets.
should be able to find the map at most fine atv/sxs dealers, red deer and rmh have them on counter. the map is online also. some great riding out there. .

Yeah I've got all of the pluz maps that's why I was wondering about the line stating "only non motorized use, unless otherwise posted"? Are there ever signs up saying we can ride these trails even when they're categorized as non motorized on the maps?

Have never seen any! Unless the map or srd website says you can ride atv on trail in pluz zone you can be fined for riding there. You can also check with forestry office in RMH

There are lots of signs at the staging area. Non- motorized only no exceptions.
