I sometimes wonder if those scum bags poke around our forums looking for information and locations... always make me think twice before I post pictures..

Great idea hope it helps slow down theft.

Heard about this on the news in Vernon and Kamloops today, they are going to start in Sicamous and changing the RCMP shifts to run later. They said they will be checking trucks that are on the rode late, after most snowmobilers are in their rooms. So I guess if you are coming in late expect to get checked, have your paperwork in order. thx wayne

I'm going to put a battery powered led in a little black box with an antenna just barely in site on my skid to imitate a tracking device. Might work better then a lock and chain!

Just get a tracking device. They are going from 50.00 to 500.00. There a couple of nice looking units for $200.00.

Hahaha yup and I hear ya loud and clear..

I must give a thanks and shout out to the RCMP who go out of there way to help us out when we are affected by these acts of theft when lots of officers will sign the paper wipe there hands and say "sorry about your luck". I am more then capable of taking care of things myself but this is 2013 and things are not the same let's face it, yes you will have a very bad time if I was to catch these scum bags mid act but at the end of the day I have family to protect and be here for at the end of it..

So again thank you to those officers and there attachments helping all of us in the Motorsports world with these stings!

And not forgotten all the S&M members going out of there way to keep eyes open and help track down lost and stolen goods!

AMEN... well said and I too would like to thank the RC's that will be working with this bait sled program.
If the man hours tracking down some of these "d" bags become too much for some smaller detachments.
I'm sure there would be a few s&mers that would volunteer with the "paper work" involved after someone
is caught with a bait sled...........
:deadhorse:

Substitute the dead horse for a "d" bad.lol

big deal they don't do anything to them when they get caught, they caught a guy by olds with over 5000 worth of stuff he got 1 day in jail and they caught him 36 hours after his release braking in to a trailer place.

Not having anything against the RCMP but doo you really think they give a rat's ass about stolen property? Do you think they want to give the time to set these programs up? They haven't got the budgets (manpower nor monies) to doo this sort of program.

It is all from the insurance companies who are finally get sick and tired of the BS. I am surprised they haven't manipulated the power to get some hard nosed judges appointed throughout the system and get the thieves off the street for extended periods of time.

Sad but true....but that's not the RCMP's fault.

I agree with Fernie.....having been on the end of a fair bit of my stuff being stolen and the cops going "out of their way" to provide me with a "file number" to give my insurance company for stuff that wasn't insured. They didn't even show up the first 4 times, when I could have provided them with items to fingerprint and probable names of the thieves! Just did the useless paperwork over the phone. And YES, my chit was locked up....well except for the 115hp outboard that was bolted to my boat, tied up to my wharf!

If they're doing this now it's because they've been told to, not because they want to.

I know first hand how unhelpful the RCMP can be in such situations. vigilance will put you in jail sooner than the no good useless punk who stole your ride. It would seem they have more rite to steal than you have to stop them. As crazy as it sounds trust me, I have been there!

I don't know about that, being I just went through it, the RC's where good, insurance was terrible they didn't give a ****, not even a thanks when I told them I got my sled back, just kept accusing me, they did not have a recovery policy cause it never hapens, that what they said. I mean do we really expect the cops to be watching our stuff, they do have real bad guys doing real bad things. Ya it made me mad someone took my toy but first world problem right but when called they went right over and recovered my toy. don't get me wrong the cops have all sorts of problems but I believe this program is all them, they are sick of this crap to and what it does to us and our towns, they want it to stop same as us if insurance had anything to do with it they would be beating their chests. Do they drop everything and put whole force on my sleds? Or the DB beating his wife and kids or the drunk guy killing people with his car. Just my take on it as I am still dealing with it . Oh yeah, it is getting deep out there!
