Baffin Island

I went up to Cape Dorset In 96 to visit my bro and his family. It was April and we did do a ski traverse through Auyuituq National Park. We Spent a lot of time out on the sleds checking out some cool areas. Instead of carrying a beacon we carried a 12 gauge shot gun. What an amazing part of the world. What an amazing people!

Some more photos of Auyuituq park. The Penny ice cap is one of the largest ice fields outside of the polar regions. The Inuqs do this traverse on their sleds regularly. Pangertung to Broughton Island.

Baffin island is the largest island in Canada, which is the fifth largest island of Canada. It has an unusually cold climate. This brings very long, cold winters and foggy, cloudy summers, which have helped to add to the remoteness of the island. Resorts in such an island can be searched online and booked in advance.
