Blew primary chain on my 131. Catastrophic damage. Broke at 6000 rpm passing a car. Bike has 155 tq at the tire. So it’s being shipped back from the Kooteney‘s to my home store to get fixed on warranty which will probably take months. I was pretty distraught and needing some happiness so I bought an 08 street glide with 20,000 km that’s like new. Nice younger man on it forever. Road from Beaumont to an acreage by Devon to visit my brother shut it off shore on my bike had a beer. Went to leave bike won’t start. WTF. I’m assuming Jesus doesn’t want me riding right now. One good news is when the glide blew up my back tire locked up at around 80 miles an hour 2 up with wife and I didn’t crash and die lol

Final verdict on 131. Compensator blew at full throttle. Crank won’t turn over even without plugs. Can’t get Stater off crank. Major damage. Starter toast. Clutch toast.
Street glide was easy fix. Put all new fuses in it and cleaned the fuse box and the fuel pump works all the time

So nice to back on the glide. Bike seems really good. The little vibration I was feeling for the last while is gone. LOL Back of my mind I’m still hearing it going boom so I was a little gun shy to go real fast. But Between Bentley and Breton I did get up to 200 for a bit. Then back down to 125. laser Jammer radar system saved me and my buddie twice today.

Now I have to convince the wife that I need to keep the street glide. I like orangie. I am truly blessed to work hard and play hard

How do you like the taller bars. My right shoulder burns after a while riding and I was told to try a taller set of bars. Be for a Electra glide.

Broke down in BC this summer. Bought another bike in Kelowna Used it to finish my trip. Had stock bars. Within a few hours I was riding one handed because my shoulder blades were cramping. Very uncomfortable if I had two hands on those low bars. After having taller bars. I won’t ride a bike without them. 12 inch is my favourite height. I ride a little crazy so I don’t need 14s or bigger. Those are Paul Yaffe’s on my orange bike. I have spooky fast on my road glide. Both 12 inch.

Well going to look into these. Can’t continue with this shoulder burn. Very unpleasant ride for sure. 131 cube… has to have a little get up and go hey. You will need both hands attached when your into it I’d think.

In my opinion if you ride hard 12 inch is the best bars. I had them on a 12 ultra CVO. So comfy
131 is pretty sweet. 155tq. Had a few minor hiccups but 26,000 km so far. First season I Broke primary chain. Last summer broke a fueling valve spring. That sucked took out of cylinder. Harley Of Edmonton covered everything under warranty. I shift to sixth at 225kph now. Crazy for a bagger.
Got built-in, laser, jammer, front and rear defence with radar. I ride it like I’m 20 years old. Lol I definitely don’t baby it.

I rode street bikes for 20 years and coming off them and on to a street glide, Harleys are so unstable haha. I've been on the back wheel at well over 225 wobbling around and still felt more comfortable than a harley at high speed. Mind you, mine was a 2014 SGS so maybe the newer ones feel more planted.

The Harley wiggle is real. My 2008 orangie wiggles pretty good at 180. Im just smiling and be the boss. It won’t crash me for the most part I just get used to it. Glide is a highway monster. It’s got suspension front and real. Better Swing arm bushings. For the giant bike it handles unreal. Could go for miles with no hands at 200 km if I wanted.

Ok so what’s the difference between the street glide and a Electra glide besides fix fairing And small difference.

Not much difference. Ultra comes with a tour pack. Thicker seat. Thicker tires for the hwy.
Street glide typically has a nicer looking seat, less comfort. Low profile tires. Nicer wheels.
Road glide is a very similar. But with a fixed fairing. More Solid in big winds imo
Do a quick attach tour pack on an ultra. You could have a two in one bike.

Gorgeous bike, but his wife says it's nothing like the Ultra was for her riding pillion. It would have been far cheaper to buy the CVO Limited and do the quick attach but he didn't GAF. The CVO SG was $52K before the add ons. My old (but trusty) '02 Ultra has the quick attach, remove the tour pak and swap out the pillow seat, other than the lowers looks like a Street Glide just with extra pieces.

That’s a Pretty cool looking ultra when the trunk is off. I like it.

Thanks, I like the old girl too. I've got some factory chrome 9 spoke wagon wheels for it, along with some chrome lower forks but had a busy summer and never got to them. Seems chrome has fallen out of favour in recent years but I still like it.

Same here. Love it.
Chrome is my favourite color and my bikes are loaded in it.
