If you watch slednecks 4 again you'll see Rippey hitting huge snowboard park jumps on his sled he has also had crazy sled parts in the TB snowboard video's he's more than an average sledder! it did take them longer to dig the jump out than get the flip done 5 tries was it! All I'm saying is if you have to ask random guys on the Internet how to do a back flip you're not ready! get out to the mountains start riding riding hard and you'll make friends with guys who ride hard too and if you ride hard enough you'll meet guys that can backflip then you can start to learn! also it took till slednecks 6 for Jay Quinlin to try another backflip on a sled he did get it but didn't have the same luck as Rippey he wound up in the hospital and didn't remember how he got there! it took another year slednecks 7 till anyone else tyied it!

i'm just looking for tips, its like if you want to be a mechanic and you ask someone how something comes apart, just because you dont know how to take it apart doesnt mean your not ready to become a mechanic, all i'm saying is just because you need a tip on how to do something dont mean your not ready to do it. all it takes is practice man:d

you got the balls to do one on your yamaha 4 stroke? go hard

maybe you should ride with some of us before you go saying we dont push ourselves.

I never did say I'd try one, let alone on a yamaha 4 stroke, Im to broken to go trying crazy sh*t like that, pins and plates and screws in my right knee along with shoulders that constantly pop out of place and a right ankle that has been broke or fractured 5 times. Snowboarding semi for a living took its toll on me from trying to push the limits off 100' tabletops to spinning off 40' cliffs, my haydays are behind me now. But if a guy wants to think about trying a backflip who are you guys to play his father. If he wants to think about a backflip im thinking hes hit some ramp jumps played around with freestyle tricks and now hes looking to take it to the next step. And yes I have seen jim rippey hit park jumps on a sled and yes hes a tremendous athlete but hes no professional rider and he did one, although it may have been sketchy it was still a backflip on a piece of sh*t sled. As for people not pushing themselves im sure some of you can ride and ride hard. But why discourage someone from something they are wanting to do. If you can do a backflip or have tried one maybe you have some grounds for saying dont try it, or youll never do it. If you guys can't do a backflip then who are you guys to say it can't be done. Almost anything is possible:d

We are not saying it can't be done - obviously it has. All we are trying to save him from is a life of broken bones and injury. I would have expected someone with a sorted history like you (broken bones etc) to have more understanding for the high risk and consequences of attempting something like this.

Maybe you should tell him how your right ankle feels after you walk on it all day - or how it will feel when you are 80. How about your shoulder - does it hurt when it pops out of place all the time? Was hitting that 100 footer worth the pain for the rest of your life? These are the lifetime consequences we are talking about. I encourage you to share your experiences and how you physically feel now, this is truly what he needs to hear before attempting this. Is a moment in time worth issues for the rest of your life?

Many of the choices we make today will affect our quality of life tomorrow.

Just putting things out there to think about.
