I think Boulder has alot of safer areas to ride than Frisby.Ive seen snow slide on boulder too on some of the steeper stuff but all in all I think its pretty safe.Am I right in thinking this?
I have only seen mini slides on almost vertical stuff at boulder, never a big slide or in the main riding ares, all the bowls on the way too turbo (which seems like a pretty big avy hazard but never heared of or seen it slide) are pretty safe. Bull pen might have some and the steep slopes on the back wall of sugar might. But id say boulder was a pretty good. Unless im just wrong ? can't say iv heard of any accidents involving slides at boulder mountain.
I suspect that the hazard rating has already been derated for Boulder. We had above freezing temps on Friday, and Saturday, and the place was getting tracked up huge. That is not to say that you can't, or won't find some nice play areas, but you have to get out to the fringe ares. The main areas have been beaten down pretty good. Check out the bluebird days though. It would be nice to get another dump now, however, on top of the crust that was formed by the warm temps, I fear that it will be a continuation of the $hitshow, that has left 15 fellow sledders permanently offline.
The conditions do look like they are settling down a bit but this yr. never say never. Regions
