I hear the same thing all the time, its meant for low speed, its too dry, its not good for the motor, blah blah blah. I use it and have no issues. Randy Swenson uses it and he works for the manufacturer. What happend when a planes engine fails they crash? If pilots trust/use it I am good with that. No one ever comes up with actual evidence.

I'LL tell u what happened to me.After 3 seasons or running straight AV gas I thought I would change plugs ,just cause. When I went to take the first plug out it twisted off.WTF...:confused:That has never happened to me before on any motor. So off to the dealer it went to pull the head off. There was so much LEAD built up in the head that it got in the threads of the plug which caused it to sieze solid. The exhaust ports had LEAD build up of about the width of a 25 cent coin all the way around.I had to replace all the valves ,send the head to a machine shop to have the broken plug removed cause they couldn't remove it there, and have the head totally ported again to remove all the LEAD.At the same time I got the low comp pistons installed ,exhaust was also LEAD injected and the turbo was shot .That little ordeal cost $6000:eek:.WTF,WTF,WTF.:eek:That was Last Fall and I don't have the guts yet to check my plugs.I was told by the dealer it was ALL caused by AV Gas:nono:This happened on my Turbo Apex

If lead builds that much in a small sled engine then how to airplanes survive for countless more miles?

And what about "leaded" race fuel, like VP C16! Why wouldn't it cause the same problem?

I have no Idea what else would cause this.I only ever run LL100,Alot of the big boys would know about the lead in the Race fuel but I have heard it cause similar issues just not as bad.I was there when they pulled the head off and there was flakes of lead falling off the head.I have never seen anything like it.I bought all my fuel from the Revy Airport and never ever mixed it with anything else. The shop Foreman said it had something to do with the temperature the fuel burnt at on turbo engines. It was never explained to me in detail enough to understand it

thats why they are putting colder plugs in the nytros anyways. and yeah my dad is a pilot ( just for a hobby ) and flys the small ones. and he said i shouldnt have a problem either.. cuz the sled will burn off all the fuel and any other junk in the fuel.

anyone know what the "LL" stands for??? how about "Low Lead", so if you got some "high Lead" fuel at the airport, then it would stand to reason that you would have some lead build up. Sure they told you it was LL, but was it?

Seen lots of guys run 100LL, no issues. Need to make sure the fuel is low lead.

After fuel caused me $6 grand in damage, I would have switched fuel. 3 seasons = $6,000, that's about $2000 a season. Running a little better fuel even if it costs a little more seems like a small price to pay to avoid the damage. Not sure why you'd keep running av gas after that.

Well when it says LL100 on the pump u assume thats what u are buying dont you ! I dont run LL100 anymore.I put the low comp pistons in it and now i run Premium with 12 lbs boost.I do want to increase the boost this year to about 20 at times so I will have to mix fuel.Any advice on the mixture would be appreciated .They put 9-1 pistons in it .I have a 5 gallon can of C12 that says NOT TO USE IN TURBOCHARGED APPLICATIONS.It must have to much Lead in it:confused:
